I wanna use @yourocsbackstory‘s “Celebrate Your Friend’s OC’s” event to give a shout out to @inexorableblob!

I swear, I've never seen a writing style quite like Blob’s! it reminds me, a little, like Lemony Snicket, only turned up by 800 degrees and left in the oven to bake for a week! i am in love with it! there’s so much personality, flair, and emotion packed into everything about their wip’s!

Chosen Supervision is the one that i know the most about, but pretty much anything you find on this blog is going to be an absolute joy to read. the  Tiffany’s! the Morgan’s! Jessica! 

Audrey is a favorite of mine!

and even in other wips! just! all of their writing! all of their characters! Mister Gunderson is a true joy to read about! his story is heartbreaking and so bittersweet! the themes covered and the ideas used are so unique and interesting!

and Blob is so friendly! I love chatting with them!!!!

7/13/17 David Pierini "Blob tag" Elizabeth Kite, center, and Noah Wicklund joined hands and attempted to tag others during a game of blob tag at Jubilee Community Church Thursday. Tagged kids must join the chain of taggers - the blob - until everyone is rounded up. Elizabeth and Noah were among 50 kid's grades K through 5th participating in a week-long arts camp hosted by the Jubilee Youth Center.

She’s more scar thanscale at this point, with a snarl that’s all chipped fangs andfury. Captain tilts her head to the side, golden eye glinting as itpasses between Blue and Bolte. Her claws dig into the side of thedoorway so hard that the wood splinters, tail lashing angrily behindher.

Captain has very littlevolume control, so she yells a lot, even if she’s not angry. she alsotends to punch shoulders too hard when she’s trying to be friendly,and throw mugs if she gets particularly frustrated.

9:Your OC is having a nightmare. What is it?

licoricewolves. fangs, digging into her skin, the smell of candy, rottensugar; Midnight laughing in the distance.

forciblyripping a red scarf out of someone else’s Inventory, pressing it intobloody hands. watching HP dropping. explosions. something loud.someone louder. she doesnt have time for this butBolte doesn’t deserve to die alone.

bloodrunning down her face, hot and burning; clay hands on her tail, thescent of the swamp is overwhelming, the hawk dragons are screaming,she cannot die she cannot die she cannot die it’sdark.

thereis an oak tree in the middle of a courtyard. the branches areglowing, so bright it’s blue. translucent lizards climb over the bodyof a young woman, pinned to the trunk by black black black bars. herskin is static. so is Captain’s.

21. Hurting someone to protect them

i’m so sorry this took so long! but to make up for it, have an extra wild ride?

long live the queen

that’s what should be said, Captain knows, but the words taste bitter on her tongue and get caught between her teeth. 

“long live Fara,” she says, instead, and her gaze never once wavers from Bolte. sometimes she realizes how much taller he is now than when they first met, how much darker the shadows under his eyes are; sometimes she realizes that those scars could have been avoidable, that his scowl didn’t used to be quite so sharp.

today she realizes none of those things, but something else: that he is standing there, back straight, jaw set, and there is fondness in the curve of his mouth, in the way he watches her, brows smooth, no judgment, no fear.

do what needs to be done, that’s what he always says, do what needs to be done for the country

but Captain thinks, now, standing here with magic gathered hot in the palm of her hand, that what Bolte really means is do what needs to be done for you

and

do what needs to be done for us.

the thought settles in her stomach, soured and rancid. Captain’s HEART aches with a burn that should be familiar but never seems to get any easier to bare. she grits her fangs and raises her palm.

the magic coalesces into a walnut sized bullet. Captain’s scales are too thick to be damaged by it. 

she thinks this is so stupid, that fucking rat deserved to die, and she thinks they were starving, Bolte did what he was supposed too

but the bottom line is that the Queen decreed the food cart a lost cause, and Bolte went after it anyway.

and the bottom line is that either Captain doles out punishment as Head of the Royal Guard, or Midnight handles it as Queen.

at least Captain doesn’t want to see Bolte dead.

right?

right.

this is for Bolte’s own good.

and yet time and time and time again coming into this room and facing Bolte down makes Captain’s HEART feel like it’s breaking all over again

and yet time and time and time again they stand across from each other and Captain feels like a traitor like the worst sort of scum

and yet time and time and time again coming into this room and breaking skin breaking bones Captain remembers Future Hero Bolte and wonders if she’s the one that crushed that tag line out

“i’m waiting,” says Midnight, with an air of impatience that can only mean bad things. 

so Captain aims at Bolte’s left shoulder, and says, “on order of the Queen, you have been found guilty of a direct disobedience.”

Bolte folds his hands behind his back, so straight, unwavering, and his mouth curls up into this rotten sort of grin. “long live the queen, and all that she rules.”

and then the mana bullet is flying through the air and slamming into him and Captainn catalogues these screams away with all the rest and she thinks she thinks she thinks that maybe something new breaks

just a little

but at least they’re both alive
