First Global Blockchain Association Formed In Mexico

The first blockchain association is formed in Mexico with the objective of educating people about the blockchain and its different applications. This association is aimed to educate about the distributed ledger technology (DLT) and its applications. According to Forbes, the association has been formed by some big names of this industry that includes Bitsco, BIVA, Volabit, GBM, ConsenSys, Lnva Capital, and Exponent Capital. The association’s provisional President, Felipe Vallejo, focused on the uses of the blockchain. He said this technology is created with the objective of making a more transparent, efficient, and safe system. Exponent Capital added blockchain's current applications ranges from the reducing cost for international payments to the democratization of the money used on these platforms. They all emphasized on the blockchain and its transparency and secure system. The association also tried to create awareness about DLT. The members of the association focused more on the implementation of the safe usages of the blockchain technology before this advanced technology becomes widespread across the industry. This tool has started dominating the industry since it makes the entire process transparent, fast, and safe. Therefore, it is important to establish a regulatory framework to prevent any bad practice such as money laundering and fraud. In addition to the founding members of the association, other organizations and entities are welcome to share their views and to become a part of the association to promote the blockchain technology and to prevent the wrong usages. The association wants to cover the majority and the vast variety of industries to discover some facts and to educate people about blockchain. As said by Maria Ariza, the director of the BIVA, we are interested to create a space for public policy and open discussion. They want to inspire everyone to keep their independent views and to share their ideas. When the cryptocurrencies or digital currencies have put the regulatory authorities even the governments across the world on the backfoot, the blockchain technology has received much curiosity and attention. The central banks and the governments have started conducting trials to test different applications of this technology in many sectors. For example, the Mexican Government conducted a public procurement procedure on the network of blockchain at the beginning of this year.
