Little PSA, when a blog says they will block users that don't have an age in their bio, they mean it.

When I first started this side blog I didn't have my age posted nor any indication that I wasn't a minor. Now there are blogs I cannot interact with.

When they say they'll block you, they mean it.

Also, if you find yourself blocked, do not bug or harass the ones who blocked you. It is their right to block whomever they wish. This is to be respected.

BLOCKING POLICY

Because, apparently, it’s bloody needed.

List can be expanded as time goes on. Also, if you display any of the following and are in my tag list, I will remove you from it too.

I will block you if:

- You don’t have an age indication in your bio.

- You’re a minor.

- Your blog is blank & your icon is a generic Tumblr one.

- I think your blog is harmful.

- You display one of the common red flags (homophobia, transphobia, pro-America, etc.)

- You try to woo me. I’m aro/ace so leave me the hell alone.

PSA

As the zombie show has returned and the alien show will be returning soon, I feel like I should make a little announcement/reminders post.

I will try to tag everything new with spoilers for the first 48 hours after it airs. If I fail to do so or you need longer, please let me know.

I will happily add any trigger or warning tags you need, as long as you let me know. I will not be perfect, but I am happy to make this blog as comfortable for you to follow as possible.

Now for the less friendly part. An incomplete list of reasons I will be blocking (I'm trying to keep my dash happy and doing my best to manage my anxiety).

blanket accusations about groups of people based on what they ship or which character they love, regardless of whether I ship it (or love the character) or not

comments I deem especially cruel about my fave

behavior I feel indicates an attempt to stir up drama

victim blaming behavior or condoning abuse

attempts to control how others enjoy the show

behavior that indicates a belief that everything in fandom revolves around you or that others in fandom should defer to you

These are not meant to be the only reasons I will block people, merely the ones I see most often.

I was going to reblog and support them, because it’s almost my exact same policy for blocking people (to date I’ve only blocked 11 people), and I myself was blocked.

Well I don’t know who you are, but knowing myself, it was either for being a wanker in one of the tags I frequent, or posting something I didn’t like in one of the tags I frequent at a certain moment when my blocking finger was particularly itchy.

A message to readers who are Trump supporters

I think you have made a terrible mistake with your vote — and you are still very much welcome here. There are no prerequisites for reading my blog, and I welcome people who disagree with me even about matters of life and death importance. 

Just so you know what to expect:

Most of my posts will remain fairly nonpartisan. (Although many will be controversial in other ways, as usual).

Some of my posts will contain the assumption that it’s a bad thing that Trump won. For instance, this one: Struggling More With Disability In the Aftermath of the Election 

If you want to have a conversation with me about why you support Trump, or why I don’t, the place to do that is Twitter. @rsocialskills. I’m probably not going to be replying to any asks or reblogs on that topic on Tumblr.

I don’t block people for disagreeing with me, but I do sometimes block people for being mean to me. If you want to have a conversation on Twitter and are willing to engage in good faith, I’ll probably talk to you. (Assuming I have time — I am very busy these days). If you show up to shout me down or start insulting me personally, I probably won’t engage and I might block you. (Especially on Twitter).

New Blocking Policy

For the preservation of my health and good spirits I will in some rare cases block people.

Mainly if they follow me eagerly and just reblog my stuff to alert their fan club to bring this blog down. I do not need to see my worst enemy in spot four of my biggest fans.

So if you are young, probably male, US born, insanely arrogant because your stuffed white middle-class parents could buy you some expensive college where the competition is making you incredibly aggressive, if you have trouble getting laid, are obsessed with kill-them-all super hero comics and techo-science, some nerd turned monstrosity, added to that a stern misogynist you like to call “anti-feminist”, a stern neo-liberal or reactionary you like to call “Anti-SJW” and a stern “Atheist” which just means: some plastic jesus my puritan parents worship should not disturb my wanking -- if you are all that, or only a part of it, I can only say: I am not interested in having any conversation with you about science, medicine or any other topic. Already your inability to master your native language makes me puke.

We live in separate worlds. Online and Offline. We do not need, do not like, do not understand each other.

And that’s all there is to say to that.

Sometimes strict separation is the best solution.
