Simple Shasta Daisy to brighten up the garden. Little insects were crawling all over the blooms.
Go away for 10 days at this time of year and come back to a veritable jungle!
I love aster season — just look at that purple!
Just about everything blooming in my garden at the moment comes in shades of pink!
Fans of MDZS know about gentians as Mama Lan’s favorite flowers, but do they know how cool and varied gentians are? These are cream gentians, a less common variation of the blue gentians found in North American prairies. The tight tubes of the flowers are different than Asian varieties; they’re generally pollinated by chunky bumblebees with the build to muscle their way into the flowers. My tulips have decided to put on a little show (in spite of the brief foray into winter the past few days). Three of these are first year blooms, having chosen the bulbs from a catalog’s photos and hoped for the best. Not disappointed, nope!
One of the more striking and larger Daffodils is the Mount Hood.
A must have for anyone that loves Daffodils!
