Lots of little pieces from a hike down the entire length of Blue Canyon from the pass by the road on down to the Santa Ynez River (which was sinking into the sand). I then hiked back up via Forbush Canyon (also the entirety, all not quite 2 miles of it) and Cold Spring Trail. At the top, I grabbed my stashed bike to coast back down the road to the car at the pass. From March 2016.

Amtrak train #5, the westbound "San Francisco Zephyr," descends Donner Pass as it meets an eastbound freight at Blue Canyon on March 18th, 1978. SDP40Fs 598 and 620 are in charge of the "Zephyr" this day.
