Orange numbly headed back to look for Cyan and Green, every step feeling heavier than the last. The atmosphere on the Skeld now felt oppressive, more than ever.
After making sure Cyan was safe (They had retorted with a frustrated “Mom, I’m nineteen, I can take care of myself!”), Orange headed down the hall to the communications room, freezing when the familiar sight of blood greeted her.
“...What’s the matter? Cat’s got your tongue?” Blue drawled, smiling as they saw Orange in the doorway.
“I thought… You… You said you wouldn’t hurt them.” Orange murmured, eyes wide as they stared at Green’s mutilated body. Blue smiled, those same blood-stained tentacles snaking out of their visor.
“And you believed me?” They scoffed. “Poor, naive little Orange. I couldn’t care less about your little boyfriend. In fact,” Blue stomped on Green’s lifeless body, blood spurting out and splashing onto both their space suits. “...I’m rather glad he’s gone. It means I have you all to myself.”
Orange flinched a little at the squelch of flesh being pressed against the floor. Tears sprung to her eyes. “W-Why… W-Why are you d-doing this?!”
“It’s my job.” Blue responded. “My job was to make sure this ship never lands on Polus. And even if I never wanted to gain and break your trust, I’d still have to do it.”
“You- I’ll have you voted off this ship. You won’t get away with this.” They hissed, and Blue laughed. Blue had the fucking audacity to laugh. Orange could have sworn they saw Red’s ghost, forlornly watching their interaction. Her blood ran cold.
“Orange, you don’t have to make this difficult for yourself. You’ve already broken everyone’s trust, haven’t you? Helping me get away with murder… You know, you might just as well be one of us impostors.” Blue drawled, wiping a smear of blood off Orange’s visor.
“Well, you know, just think about where your heart really lies. I wouldn’t mind infecting you myself, if the need to arises.”
Orange watched Blue leave, pressing the button on her walkie talkie. “...There’s a body in Communications.” She hoped her voice didn’t sound as choked up as she felt at the moment.
