she's got major daddy issues

she grew up feeling never truly loved by her father! being overshadowed by the animals he explored and when he died she felt resentment for never having his full attention

because she had resentment about it she took his exploring to an unhinged extreme to spite him even in death

in her early 20s she wasn't as intense about it as she is later on

she secretly loves Paddington but can never admit it

came out as a lesbian later in life

she hates monologuing and prefers her words/actions to get right to the point

kaz brekker

He deeply loves all of the crows but would always deny it to whoever asks.

After the auction/confrontation with Pekka in CK he talks a lot more about Jordie to the others.

Cherishes each and every thing the others gift him, but hides them away somewhere so they can't see how much he loves it.

He has a few other tattoos but has to be unconscious before he gets them, so he'll only get them from a tattoo artist he trusts with his life (or Inej is there to watch). Obviously has the dregs tattoo, but then something for each of the crows that's not obvious to anyone but him. So if someone were to see them they'd have no idea what they're for.

Drinks coffee black and whiskey straight. My man does not care about bitterness.

Bought Inej the ship, but leaves small treats or gifts in it for her for whenever she's out on the water. Also pays for the maintenance/dock/crew for the ship.

I know it's more of a fandom thing, but Nina unironically calls Kaz 'Kazzle Dazzle' and he hates it, but that's why she does it.

Thinks of Nina as a very annoying sister but loves and cares for her dearly.

Kept the crocheted lion toy that he taunted Pekka with, as a trophy. But if you accused him of naming it, he would sock you in the jaw. (It never actually belonged to Alby anyway so it's fine)

Personally pays for the Ravkan tutor that trains Jesper in his Durast abilities. He says he does it for the crew's sake and for free fixes on his cane.

Sleeps fully clothed most nights. Occasionally he'll take his boots off, but only after a long day of walking.

Has a variety of canes, but mainly sticks with the crow's head one (he switches out when he doesn't want to be recognized, but they're created and weighted in a similar way to the crow's head one).

The most picky eater of the crows. Whatever the Kerch equivalent of chicken tenders is, that's his meal.

nina zenik

Junk journals. The journals I personally use are around 192 pages, so Nina would have roughly 14 (book!Nina) or 32 (show!Nina) finished journals that she keeps locked in a box somewhere. When she was younger she would write more lightheartedly - it was her own space within the Little Palace to do/say whatever she wanted, and she was great at hiding them. But as she started getting older they would get darker - she wrote about Matthias being stuck in Hellgate, documented every single step she took to get him out. Half of one journal alone was dedicated to the Ice Court heist. She writes a lot about her parents and who she thinks they would be/what they'd be like. Every person she's loved, hurt, and lost.

She has a very oddly specific memory. Can remember what she was wearing or who she was with on some random day ten years ago, but couldn't tell you Kaz's birthday to save her life.

Can read sheet music, even though she can't play any instruments or sing well. Sometimes steals Wylan's compositions just to listen to them in her head (he hates when she does this).

3 piercings per earlobe, her left conch is pierced and her right helix. Usually studs in the earlobe piercings, though sometimes switches up and puts hoops or dangly jewelry in her firsts. (I only have my firsts so pardon the fact I don’t know what the hell I’m talking about)

She’s turned her white rose tattoo into a whole bouquet, basically changing the meaning of the tattoo.

LOVES caramel. I think her favorite dessert would be apple pie with ice cream, completely drowning in caramel.

i get besotted with the most random men 😭 have some gender neutral mark/reader hc bc there's so little gender neutral stuff in this fandom

For Varian, I personally headcanon him as bisexual and either cisgender or demiboy.

For Eugene, I headcanon him as demiromantic, demisexual, and cisgender. I think he needs to have a really strong bond with someone and trust them enough to really fall in love with them
