Back then, when he was a thief, or even before, when he was still an orphan, with nothing but the wish for something better it was hard to imagine that he would ever reach this point on life, where he has a house of his own, or rather, a house he shares with the person he now calls home, the person who is always awaiting for him to come back when he goes out, the person who iluminate his life, the person he would call his dream if it wasn't because life with you them is already like a dream come true

You, the light of his days, the person who is always there to welcome him home and make the loneliness he felt for so long go away, the person who always plays along and laugh at his jokes, the person who's smile makes him feel like not only everything he has gone thought has been for this moment but also that makes him feel like, perhaps, he is doing something right, if he gets to call that person with the most beautiful smile he has ever seen his spouse, if he has the fortune to return to that person's arms then he may have done something good to deserve so much

And today, as the sun has settle down and you two get ready to get some sleep, climbing into your shared bed almost at the same time, as you curl up at his side Eugene still seems to be lost in thoughts, he moves as close as he can and holds your hand in his, staring at the matching rings you two share, symbol of your new lifes, caressing it gently before looking into your eyes, getting lost not only in the sight of your beauty but also with how much this moment truly means, of what he has and what he is now

Out of nowhere and while still holding your hand Eugene said that you two should get married, winning a soft laugh from your part, reminding him that you can't get married when you two are already married, and even if he has laugh along side with you before insisting that, then, you two should get married again; and even if both shared a laugh about it deep down Eugene meant it, if he could he would marry you again and again, because doing it just once it isn't enough for him to grap his mind around the fact that he is so lucky to be married to the most amazing person in the world

Varian, Hugo, and Nuru Dating Headcanons

A/N: I haven't written in a while, so I thought something short and sweet would help me get back into the groove of things. I'll admit that I'm not totally happy with this, but I had fun and I'm proud of myself for finally posting something. Also the VAT7K fandom has no reader insert content and someone needed to change that.

VARIAN

I often see Varian portrayed as being shy when it comes to romance, but I don't think he would act like at all.

We've seen how he acts around Cassandra. He openly admires her, and goes out of his way to help her at every opportunity. He can get embarrassed or over eager sometimes, sure, but never shy.

So I doubt Varian would struggle to approach you.

He doesn't ask you out right away, because he wants to get to know you as a friend first, but his attraction shows itself in the little ways. Like how he always leans in when you speak, or the way your hands accidentally (it's never an accident) brush whenever you pass each other.

He doesn't push. He gives you room to back out if you feel uncomfortable. But you never do. So eventually he confesses, and you become his new favorite experiment.

He loves taking care of you. Acts of service are easily his main love language.

Although, if you bring that up around him, he'll remind you there's no scientific evidence to support the idea of love languages. Then he'll go off on a whole tangent about it and completely forget whatever he was doing before.

Again, Varian is careful not to overstep. He knows you can handle yourself, he just wants you to know that you don't always have to.

When you oversleep and miss breakfast, he's sure to save a plate for you. On cold nights, he lends you one of his blankets and offers to cuddle— joined by Ruddiger, of course. They're a package deal.

He's also not afraid of PDA. Honestly, he kind of loves it. He's proud to be yours and he wants everyone to know that. He's always touching you in some way whenever you go out, usually with an arm around your waist or by entwining your pinky fingers.

HUGO

Hugo is used to cheating his way through life. He believes honesty is a weakness and sincerity gets you killed. The only loyalty he has is to himself, and he likes it that way.

At least... he used to. But then you came along.

To be fair, it wasn't just you. It was the whole team. But you were the catalyst; the beginning of the end of his perfect, apathetic life. He started caring about one person, and now he can't stop.

He hates that he doesn't hate it.

Hugo is emotional constipation in human form. He has no idea how to express fondness for anything but engineering and mice. So things get very awkward very fast.

His tries to be as charming and confident as he always is, but then you smile at him and oh god, he can't do this-

His "flirting" consists of him stammering for a few minutes, realizing how stupid he sounds, then calling you an idiot and running away. Sometimes he'll just stand in the corner and stare at you. Not even in a cute, soft way— he looks like he just killed a man and you'e next on his hit list.

You'll have to be the one to make the first move. Good luck with that.

Hugo would prefer to keep your relationship a secret, at least early on. Not because of embarrassment, he just doesn’t see the point in announcing it to everyone. After all, it isn't their relationship. They should mind their own business.

He's definitely a gift-giver. And yes, half of them are stolen. But is it so wrong for a man to steal when he's doing it for the love of his life? You're someone who deserves to be spoiled. He wants to provide for all your wants and needs, even if he has to resort to crime to do it.

NURU

Nuru is so easy to fall in love with. She's kind, passionate, curious, and a natural romantic. She could make rainy days feel warm and the wind like it was a song just for you.

She falls for you just as fast. She spends hours just daydreaming about your future together, and even longer trying to calculate it.

Are your Sun signs compatible? Moon signs? Blood types?? Does that last one even matter, or is her brain thinking itself into overdrive?

She devises a needlessly complicated, twenty step plan meant to woo you, and not a single thing goes right. But she's so earnest, it's impossible not to be charmed.

Nuru has some romantic experience, but only because her parents arranged it. She's never chosen someone before. So she needs a bit of time to think. She knows she loves you, but what else? What does she want from this relationship? What does it even mean to dedicate yourself to someone like that?

She's not sure. And that probably means you should take things slow. She still wants a perfect fairytale romance, but she'd rather not rush into things and regret it later on.

A relationship with Nuru would never be cold. Her intelligence does not make her robotic and her caution does not make her passionless.

Quality time is what she values most. She's used to busy schedules and an overworked mind. Being able to slow down and spend some time with her favorite person means a lot to her. You don't even have to be doing anything, she's happy as long as you're together.

Sun peeked in through your window and shined onto your face as you woke up. “Morning already?” You sighed, looking rather disappointed to have to wake up. “Well, better get to cleaning up.”

You rushed around your room, changing out of your simple purple nightgown and opting for a simple blue dress and some house shoes. You’ve been stuck here your whole life, ever since she disappeared. It’s not terrible, and you have servants, but there’s more that’s out there. You know there is. You just haven’t reached it yet.

You walked over to where your pet rabbit, (R/N) was sleeping and gently shook her awake. She hopped onto your shoulders as you gave her some snacks.

“Come on, we’ve got stuff to do.” you said as you tied your hair up. Your hair was long. Like long, long. Really, really long. You would cut it but it’s….complicated.

Someone tried to cut it when you were a baby, at least that’s what you heard through the walls when the staff thought no one was listening. Itty bitty baby you got upset when they tugged on your hair a bit too hard and the stylist dropped down dead. They didn’t try again for a long time after that. Not until you were old enough to control your emotions.

Once they did try again, it didn’t end so well. The scissors broke, the knife broke, and your parents wouldn’t let them try any other weapons. Your long hair terrified them. That’s how they lost their first daughter, what if they lost you too. That’s why you couldn’t leave.

It was just out of love, you knew that, but you were almost fourteen and it’d been years since you stepped foot outside the castle, and even just roaming the halls had taken some convincing.

Oh well, no time to reminisce. You picked up your broom and began to sweep. Your parents always questioned why you did it, you had servants to do it for you, but you truly didn’t mind. The only problem was your long, silver-black hair which seemed to drag on the ground, but even then, you’d always just tie it up real neat. It was surprisingly light.

As (R/N) stood on your shoulders, she looked at outside, then you, then pouted. You looked over at her then smiled. “Come on, (R/N). I like it in here, and so do you.” The rabbit simply gave you annoyed look, to which you sighed. “Look, you can go outside later.” (R/N) frowned. “Alright, alright, just let me finish my chores first.” you conceded.

You sighed, looking at your mess of a room and began to sing a small tune. “7 am, the usual morning line up.” you sung, looking at your clock. It was quite late for you.

“Start on the chores then sweep til the floors all clean.” Luckily, your room isn’t nearly as big as your parents, otherwise weekly cleaning would take all day. “Polish and wax, do laundry and mop and shine up.” you hummed as you threw your dirty laundry down the chute then began to mop, then polish, the floors.

“Sweep again, and by then it’s like..7:15!?” That was way faster than you expected. Well, for the most part, the room is clean, so you opened (R/N)’s little door, and let her out. It’s not like your room was on the first floor, but your parents had a little door to the garden installed for your rabbit. If even they knew that rabbits needed sunlight, why didn’t they think you needed it? You were awfully pale.

You walked over to your bookshelves and picked up a book on alchemy, then a few more because maybe one wouldn’t enough. “And so I’ll read a book, or maybe two, or three.” Once, you finished reading, you decided to move onto painting!

You had lots of paintings on your walls. Ones of you and you friend, some of your parents, and some just of (R/N). You picked up your brush. “I’ll add a few new painting to my gallery.”

You had a plethora of hobbies actually. “I’ll play guitar, and knit, and cook, and basically just wonder: when will my life begin?”

Eventually, your parents called you down for lunch, before you resumed your daily activities. “Then after lunch, it’s puzzles and darts and baking. Paper mache, a bit of ballet and chess.” You played chess against yourself. Yes, it was weird, but there was no one else here to play with. “Pottery and ventriloquy, candle making!” You seriously need new hobbies.

“Then I’ll stretch, maybe sketch, take a click, sew a dress!” Lots of your dresses were hand sewn. Your mother had received one too many dresses made by your hand. “And I’ll re-read the books if i have time to spare.” They were you favorite books after all. “I’ll paint the walls some more, I’m sure there’s room somewhere!” You’ve started painting the walls leading up to your room. There is no more space.

“And then I’ll brush, and brush, and brush, and brush my hair, stuck in the same place I’ve always been.” You sighed at the sight of your room. You loved it, but there’s more to see, more to do. Well, off to brushing your hair, which took like…3 hours.

Once you finally finished, you were content with just running around until you were tired. “And I’ll keep wondering, and wondering, and wondering, and wondering: ‘when will my life begin?’”

You had taken a stance at the window, staring out at the sky. (R/N) came back in, and you quickly gave her a nuzzle before scooping her up and placing her on your shoulder as you stared out your window dreamily. “Tomorrow night, lights will appear, just like they do on her birthday each year. What is it like, out there where they glow? Now that I’m older, father might just let me go.”

𝆹𝅥 Tarzan, Flynn Rider (DISNEY), Nier (NIER REPLICANT)

Tarzan

For Tarzan everything he does with you is a new and learning experience, he is a quick learner so it won't take him much time before learning about the whole thing that is dating (if you guide him he mostly just follow what you tell him, besides with the gorilas he learned about mating so even if it isn't the same he isn't completely cluelest)

Tarzan doesn't feel shy nor ashame of his feeling for you, it would take him a while to fully understand his feeling (or express them to you, he does tries to be sweet while doing it, he does know a little about courting), however, as much as he doesn't have any problem with being open with his love he understand that it may not be the best idea to tell his friends and family about it

Kerchak doesn't trust the other humans, and he barely accept him in the herd, Tarzan fears a little how he would react knowing that he not just went against his orders by approaching them but also start dating one, so he chose not to say anything for now

Tarzan finds himself stuck between wanting to be with you, wanting to learn more from you and even show you his own world, and wanting to be with his family and protect both sides, it could be a little difficult for him to find an balance between the two parts but at the end of the day he manage to make it work

If you are interested on him and his family he will be hesitant to even talk about the topic, for his wish to protect you he just keep the problem to himself until he manage to order his thoughts and explain the situation to you (he needs some time to talk to you about it because he wants to be able to make you smile, and bringing this troubles to you will probably upset you, or even worst, make you feel guilt)

This situation probably won't last much time, or at least he won't hide it for a long time, the first days he can easily come up with an excuse but soon he will have to explain it at least to his friend, Terk and Tantor, and his mother, they know him too well to don't know that he has something in his hands, it can be a difficult for them to understand and accept it (specially for his mother) but at the end they will be really supportive over it (as long as you don't wish harm to him or anyone else from the pack or try to take him away from them), Terk and Tantor will even try to help him cover up and come up with excuses to all the time he's away from the herd or inform him if anything happens in home

He doesn't talk about it much but Tarzan is well aware that he can't keep it as a secret forever and has to think a plan quick, there is the risk of you having to return home, his family finding out or even his family having to go further in the jungle, searching for a safer place to be in. He tries to came out with a plan himself, not wanting to bother you with it

Flynn Rider

Flyn has a lot of reasons to why he should keep your relationship as a secret, he is a thief, he is searched by the authorities and has to constantly sneak, hide and run away, and not just that be he has some enemies, criminals too, since he had betrayed some people a few times, and last but most important reason he cares about you and a lot, he can't help but want to keep you away from his criminal life, even if you were a thief or something of those lines he still want to protect you

Flyn will not admit it out loud but he is scare of the posibility of something bad happening to you, you are too important for him, it upsets him and makes him anxious when you are in distress or even hurt (if something happens to you because of what he does he won't be able to live with himself)

If you two are in a serious relasionship is because he trust you a lot, he will only allow himself to be in a relationship when he is sure that he loves you, that he can trust you and that he actually want to spent his life with you, it took a long time but he let himself be more open and sincere in the relationship (soon or later he will even tell you his real name), his relationship with you is almost the only thing sincere and genuine in his life and that is why he wants to keep it safe

Besides, not all is bad, he does want to keep hidden from the world his love out of security but it actually doesn't take long before he start to like this kind of dinamic, the idea of having to be hidden, giving you quick kisses and hugs to show you that he love you but having to be quick so no one see you two, having to be sneaky but flirty (he just can't stop being teasingly and flirty whenever he has the opportunity, specially if you are more shy or easy to flustered), or even just having to make plans for dates in places that are far from the crowds, somewhere is just the two of you, he end up loving all of that and even have a lot of fun while doing it

But just as he start enjoying being sneaky he start to crave more and more your company, as time pass the desire to have a more open relationship with you grows more and more, at some point he start thinking on having a change, thinking that having a peaceful life without all this problems, having a life where he can be with you without having to worry about you getting hurt or having to run away in any moment will be actually good (but he doesn't really say it out loud), he wonder if he will enjoy having that kind of life too, but is more likely that he already knows the answer (although, he is an ambitious man, he also wants to have quite a lot of things because he doesn't want to have to worry or limit non of you in what he can offer)

Nier

First of all, it wasn't even Nier's intention to keep your relationship as a secret, is just that he was soo busy and anxious that he forgot to tell others. Also, at first it took a while for him to accept and get used to be in a relationship, losing Yonah and Kaine was too much for him and he was just scare to drag you into the danger, but at the end he couldn't deny how happy you make him so at the end you start dating (is also to Weiss' insistance, saying that he shouldn't punish himself, that everything in his life doesn't have to be lost and sadness)

Nier isn't the most affectionate in public just because he is more focused on his work, on searching the Shadowlord and fighting the shades, he keeps the display of affection when is just you two (normally Weiss leave you alone to give you space, but is always with the excuse of not wanting to see you two all lovey dovey), where he can relax and feel like everything will be alright because is just the two of you

As well, if you two travel together that lead you two to have more time together and Nier has no problem with giving you little kisses or holding your hand, although he does it when he knows there is no threating around (he is too scare of losing you too)

Despite not being so affectionate in public is kinda obvious that there is something between you two, whenever you two are together you are always really close, sometimes even Nier has his hand on you (back, shoulder, arm, depending in how he feels), and even if you were affectionate it won't be so strange because even before dating Nier used to accept the affection without much troubles, but what make it even more obvious is the look of pure adoration and love he has whenever you are having time for yourselfs. But at the end, if non of you say something about it, it will stay still in doubt if you two are already together or not

Besides, traveling with you two it feels like a big family, even before you two were dating, so that fact make it even more unsure but at the same time obvious

Since it is still unsure if you two are together or not is more probably that Devola and Popola will try to set the two of you together, they love both of you and despite everything they cherish for your happiness, they try to don't be so direct while helping you two get together or while giving Nier some advice to what to do (for what he probably won't think much of it or take it as just a little advice about dating, in any case he just thank them)

Nier just asumes that the others (or at least the people he cares about) knows about your relationship if they don't ask, so is just up to you to clarify it or until they end up finding out (although, if they ask Nier, he won't even hesitant in confirming your relationship)
