Nicolas Jaar and Dj Slugo React to the Recent Lack of Indictment’s
America is currently in the midst of what looks like a second civil rights movement. This movement is motivated by years of anger and pent up frustration capped by the recent court cases in which homicidal police officers have not be held accountable for their life taking actions. After an extremely long weekend of partying, we assume you will probably be feeling less than fresh.
So here is a nice mix from Nicolas Jaar’s boiler room in New York. It’s got that energy to keep you going through the day without the tempo that, let’s face it, our headaches can’t handle today. If you haven’t heard of him before, he is a very talented and diverse musician. At the tender age of 17, he released his first EP with Wolf & Lamb, which gained him fans like Seth Troxler. Troxler described him as “one of the most talented minds dance music is about to see develop.”
Nicolas Jaar might have just become one of my new favorite DJ/Producers. His music is the best way to end a day at work. Peaceful, but still with a little bit of bass to keep you energized!! Loving this!
Sneaky Sound System - Big (Nico Jaar Remix) Everything this man touches turns to gold and this is my personal favourite of all of his treasures. Born in New York and raised in Chile, he is the owner and founder of the Clown & Sunset record label and calls his own style of music 'blue-wave'; a fusion melancholic electronic music and organic elements. An interesting fact that sets him aside from his contemporaries is that most of his compositions reside at 100 BPM or lower, which is far lower than the techno/house standards of 120-130 BPM. Whatever his methods, it sounds bang on.
