Hazel rolled her lips, leaning against him. "It’s not life. It’s a death sentence." She murmurs, closing her eyes. She always got this way after hospital.visits and bad news.

Augustus shrugged his shoulders, starting to sigh as he felt the mood drop.

"Why not live that death sentence to the fullest? What's the point otherwise?"

"It never stops, does it?" Hazel says blankly, suddenly. "I guess I always subconsciously thought there would be a point where I would, I don't know, just grow out of cancer. But it never stops." -blue-black-nails

 He had his eyes closed, trying to enjoy the moment that they were having. His eyes then  fluttered open, looking right at her, trying not to frown.

   ”No, I guess not. Think of it like …    your eyes, for example. You’re    never going to grow out of those.”

“But, yeah. Even I’ve got a small chance of not being cancer free anymore. It’s life, isn’t it?”

Hazel shakes her head, picking up her tank and slinging the strap over her shoulder, walking slowly down the stairs. "Hi." She breathes once they’re downstairs, and she smiles at him a little, a blush dusting her cheeks.

He smiles at her as she reaches the bottom, not being able to stop hugging her. Which he did for a second. "Hi, Hazel Grace. Would you like to sit down?"

Its 2 am when Hazel arrives at Gus' house, as per his request, and she's in sweats and one of his t-shirts that she nabbed from him during their Amsterdam trip. She texts him a simple 'outside x' and waits.(blue-black-nails)

Augustus rushes to the door, grinning widely. “Come on in, but be quiet.” He begins to walk down the steps, turning around for a second and grabbing her hand. “Need any help?”

Hazel shook her head a little, taking his hand. "This as pre-miracle. I was facing my mortality and I wondered if it meant anything. I was ready to die, but I’m glad I didn’t." She smiled over st him. "I’m glad I met you."

Augustus softly smiled, "I'm so glad you didn't. Or else I wouldn't be seeing your beautiful face right now,"" he said, squeezing her hand. "You're not going to die on me anytime soon, Hazel Grace. I love you & I intend to stay holding your hand."
