Idk if you watch the new DuckTales or if you’re caught up, but now that we know that more characters are canon, how do you think they would interact with the triplets (specifically Louie) as he is in the reboot? (This is def in reference to your crack pairing from lj )
I do watch the new DuckTales and it’s literally everything I could have hoped for! I still absolutely ship the same pairings I shipped back in the LJ days and am basically foaming at the mouth waiting for Daisy to appear because hello, yes, Donald/Daisy is my all-time #1 Disney OTP. And DW/LP is just. I’m just. Who knows what the Disney overlords will allow, but it’s so clear that the crew wants it to be canon and is doing their best and like?????? HOW????????
(Young fans: this is a lesson never to give up hope, because someday when you’re 8 you may develop a crush on a cartoon duck and 13 years later when you’re in college and the show has been off the air for over a decade you may realize you ship him with his sidekick and 11 years after that they may decide to reboot a tangentially related show and try really really hard to make your ship canon and you will 100% not know what to do with yourself. It can happen!)
But I assume you are asking about Gosalyn and (mostly) Max and FRIEND, I LOST MY SHIT. I lost my shit when we saw the S3 teaser art, and I lost my ship at every single second of “Quack Pack,” and I will lose my shit every moment Gosalyn Mallard is on screen and I CANNOT WAIT.
Huey is very different from his old Quack Pack personality but I’m pretty much envisioning him and Gosalyn as basically a gender-swapped Jake and Amy from Brooklyn 99, where she is good-hearted but feral and he has binders and she is messing them up and it is stressing him out and oh no he’s in love.
Goofy’s appearance made me so happy and I love that they were like “Eh, he’s canon now, we’re retconning him in because we feel like it, deal with it.” One of the Max photos was from prom so I’m assuming he’s older than the triplets, but I’ve always assumed he’s older, and whatever, he’s a tangential character retconned in from a wish about a sitcom, I can make him appropriately aged in my head if I want to. But anyway yes, I absolutely still ship Max and Louie and even though Louie is also very different from his Quack Pack personality I imagine it still being very much a case of “Louie thinks Max is really cool and Max thinks Louie is really cool and in actual fact neither of them is even a little bit cool at all.” Bless their hearts.
