Tiefcember: Day 5 - Contrast
I figured what better tief to draw for this theme than @tiefling-queer ‘s PC, Baylock, who literally clashes with himself. No matter what he does, he’s tacky, and it’s amazing.

Tiefcember: Day 5 - Contrast

DMing a new campaign, and I’m really excited about it, but our party is a wizard, a sorcerer, a rogue, and a paladin. My mother is playing the paladin and while I adore her, she’s been struggling to remember what all the little mechanical things do, and I’m 80% sure we’re gonna have a Merle situation on our hands if you know what I mean. There’s a 50/50 chance they all die before we even get five sessions in.
The campaign I’m DMing is literally just TAZ. Here is my proof, it contains:
the spellcaster who is fairly certain all his party members are crazy and whose entire aesthetic is just “ugly shirt at thrift store that has been here three months” meets “Barbie aisle at Toys R Us”, played by the oldest of the three young adults in the campaign
the human melee fighter who runs head first into every situation and who probably isn’t using their feats correctly because neither they nor the DM actually know how they’re supposed to work, played by the middlest of the young adults
the older healer and parental type figure whose whole shtick does not involve healing anyone and who asks to do borderline insane shit because they don’t fully understand the rules, played by the over 50 parent of the DM
more capable women who show up to save these idiots while mocking them relentlessly
probably unbalanced items That I Just Made Up™ and Have Not Playtested™
and the DM (me), the youngest of the young adults, who is just sitting there watching this party of chronic dumbasses cause chaos and scare NPCs wherever they go while loving every second of it
Rebels of Bluecliff playlist
So I have a playlist for the campaign I’m DMing, and I decided to copy Rani and make a playlist breakdown post, more for myself than anything lol. (I actually have two, but one is specifically just for songs that fit the wasteland. This one is more for the people of the world.) It’s still a work in progress so I’ll probably update this as I update the playlist.

the rogue: *charges and impales the evil warlock I've been antagonizing the party with*
the rogue: how's she looking?
me, looking at her singular hitpoint: uh she's lookin' a little rough
*party walks into a camp full of new NPCs*
my mother: i would like to just smell all these people and sort of get a feel for them, see if they’re ok
me: *laughing* what????
my mother: well I was a werewolf once so-
me: you aren’t anymore!
my mother: but you know, there’s like residual stuff-
me: no! you can’t go around smelling these people you just met, mom!
my mother: :(
Surina: *tackles an important NPC who they just met who they also need to agree to work for them*
Surina: *comments about eating said NPC after they finally get him to calm down*
Surina: *asks if creepily sniffing the other group of NPCs they just met is a good idea*
Surina: *is a slightly crazy dragonborn who just wants to hunt*
Baylock: *has had ENOUGH*
My PCs are so good at first impressions.
Some sketches of the NPCs so far for the 5e campaign I’m DMing. From left to right:
Khyra, Triton Rogue
She’s a bitch and I love her
Loreo, Human Fighter
He’s a good boy
Glimmer, Half-elf Wizard
If anything happens to Glimmer I will kill everyone in this party and then myself
Brightwyn, Halfling Ranger
Her physiology has been altered by magical radiation from rifts in time and space that appear in the wastelands that make up much of the campaign’s setting, so that’s why she’s purble. She’s got talons for hands as well, but I didn’t bother drawing those.
She will cut you
Gonna draw the PCs too eventually, in all their ostentatious glory. I’m excited to see what these little shits get up to in future sessions where I’m not railroading them through a prison break, lmao.
