@zootopepo Do you have any insight into what medium these comics were intended for? I find them here and there along with what appear to be comic covers. Is this something that she produces and sells in Japan where maybe the copyright laws are such that characters from a Disney movie are fair game?

Well, it’s definitely a Dōjinshi, and the law regarding dōjinshi in Japan is a bit grey:

Basically, if the original copyright holder does not file a lawsuit, a dōjinshi creation will be okay and the authorities will look the other way.

(Most Japanese publishers actually don’t mind dōjinshi, and in fact welcomed such fan creations because (1) dōjinshi boost the sales of the actual work, and (2) dōjinshi showcases talents, which get snapped up by the industry.)

The cover pages are probably used to sell her works during Comiket (Comic Market); she would print a limited number of actual physical comics, which will -- and did, repeatedly -- sell well during Comiket.

Now I just feel dumb cause I went back to the part to quote it and it was just fine! I think my Netflix skipped a second (or what non-disc digital things do. buffered?) cause when I was at the part where Nick was like ‘Pawpsicles! Get your pawpsicles!’ I only heard ‘get your pawpsicles’ and I thought it was SO bizarre they’d pick out that ONE word LOL so the movie is the same. I just did a dumb.

I know, I realize it was a silly question xD And same here! I got the DVD and Bluray pack and then it just POPS up in Netflix! Oh well, I’ll still have the movie ready to watch when Netflix switches it out LOL
