In contrast to his deadpan, she had a smile on her face as her head cocked to the side, “Well, isn’t it part of being a shinobi to hide fear?” She was rather intimidated by him, but that was something she was rather adept at masking.

She didn’t seem to be too worried about possibly being attacked, and her accumulation of scars showed that she has been in plenty of them.

She observed him calmly and though she was relaxed, she was prepared for anything, “Isn’t that right?”

This was a great victory for the Shimura clan. Through an Uzumaki kinswoman whom had married into the clan just a few years ago, it was through her excelled mastery over fuuinjutsu, with keen specialty in juinjutsu, that their newest prize would excel their standing in the newly formed Hidden Leaf. Shimura Genji was wizened despite his barely middling age, keen eyes sharp upon the Senju, second only to his brother, the Shodai Hokage. It was inside village walls that the Shimura requested they meet, bearing a gift they’d temporarily housed in one of the empty granaries.

“Senju-dono,” the man bowed low towards, before straightening and gesturing to the granary where his men slid open one of the enormously tall doors, empty only because it was early spring and far from seeing the autumnal harvest. Genji strode in front of the threshold, gesturing inside. There, a woman no older than her late 20′s was prone before them, body lathered in sweat and clad only in a soiled kimono tunic and trousers, a true bushwoman.

Sakura’s hazy eyes glared with unfocused intensity towards the pairs of silhouettes, but with the juinjutsu apparent on her arm--a complicated array of characters and symbols coiled into flesh--no harm would befall them.

“She’s a Slug Sage like your lord brother, Senju-dono. We found her in one of the barbaric lands encompassing Shikkotsurin, conducting some... base, unintelligent acts among their people. But unlike your brother, she is uncouth and a barbarian.” 

Inclining his head respectfully, he added, “I would ask that, perhaps, she be accepted amid the village’s arsenal. The fires of Hi no Kuni yet burn and Konohagakure no Sato will be the one to quench those fires with the Will of Fire. Hm, perhaps she could bring even the prideful Nara and Hyuuga to heel.”

In the midst of attempting a creative writing challenge from one of the forums I’m a part of, I thought -- why not bug more people? 

Write one sentence [three adjectives, no less -- more is a plus, as long as the sentence remains stable] that encapsulates the aesthetics you associate with your muse. It need not be entirely accurate, since the muse can be a fickle, troublesome thing at times. Give it a whirl.

No cheating/revising. Think stream of consciousness. [the idea of writing words like flowing ink]

Sight: Fleeting rays of brilliant sunlight that flicker through brooding storm clouds that decorate the sky like blurry splotches of ink; an aftermath of a particularly violent storm.   

Sound: The oddly delicious crunch of dead leaves underfoot, while a distant echo of a crashing waterfall pinches the peaceful silence of dark, dreary woods.

Scent: Faint peppermint, coloured with a lingering scent of earthy herbs and the telltale, barely there presence of mustard oil which clings more to three pronged kunai than himself. 

Symbolic imagery [inanimate]: A particularly worn, ivy covered tree trunk that failed the test of time, yet somehow stands rooted in place with a singular fern poking its head from dead bark.

J   :   JEALOUSY.   does your muse get jealous in a relationship?

      Kakuzu is a very greedy person. Does he get jealous? Yes. But that jealous usually happens if proper communication isn’t had between him and his partner he’s in a relationship with. If there’s a certain level of trust though, he knows that there isn’t anything to be jealous of.

     Though, sometimes there are times where even though we know our logic is sound, we can’t help how we feel. So yes, Kakuzu will feel himself get jealous, and he’ll internalize it and get bitter and grouchy. You bet. So his partner might have to do some prying to get him to talk about what’s wrong. Use his words. 

     He doesn’t get violent like you would expect him to. Kakuzu is a respectful man. His partner, if he’s romantically involved, is very important to him. Abuse is a part of his past he refuses to repeat, so he’s more likely to become colder and quiet than violent. Though he has a reputation for a quick temper, Kakuzu is not a wife beater. Communication is far more valuable to him than being right, or holding power over a spouse or partner.

The light summer breeze, as much of a blessing as it was, unsettled the scent of paper that had meandered between the numerous shelves laden with books and rolls of parchment. The sharp, metallic tinge of fresh ink was but a mere undertone, though the Namikaze hardly took notice. He was too busy mulling over Tobirama’s question. 

“Well, no.” Messing around with fuuin could be quite the gamble, and most of his opponents would be too occupied with shielding their necks to even consider restrictive fuuin. Besides, if one made the mistake of ruining the carefully woven balance in the sealing script...

Well. It wasn’t pretty, to say the least. Minato was no novice; in fact, many a time his own fuuin experiments had showcased an uncanny ability of relieving one of one’s facial hair with seldom a warning. That didn't mean the possibility of interfering with an established seal didn't exist, though, and he for one, did not fancy the experience of turning into human mâché.

“Fold and overlap...” Cue yet another contemplative hum as light hues narrowed a fraction before shifting to dull counterparts, “I’d say it depends on the strength of the seal itself. If it has a solid enough foundation, the chances of any interferences are minimal...no?” Though not impossible. Never impossible. 

Gah. 

Technically, it was dangerous - technically, the marginal of error was a bit on the off side and maybe a sane individual would advise against experimenting on plausibly unstable grounds, given the curiosity blooming on the Senju’s features. 

“So...who’ll be drawing the restrictive seal?” Pause, where one careless elbow almost knocked a few scrolls in an open heap, “Me or you?” 

Minato hardly counted as sane. Especially where jutsu were concerned.

1. I adore angst - gut wrenching, tears inducing angst. ^^ I prefer exploring the psyche of characters, the darker aspects; coupled with evidence from canon -- the more insight into their heads, the better. That goes for conversations likewise. I love to talk about character/jutsu/lore development. I have been cited as annoying in this regards, in the past XD feel free to tell me to shut up if I babble too much. 

2. I suffer from a...mild case of insomnia, as I would like to term my many, many sleepless nights. During such times, I tend to lean towards fluff/crack/gut wrenching angst ._. er..I may bother you out of the blue ^^; legit. Even if you’re a recent follower/I recently started following you. Apologies in advance, ne? 

3. I...don’t get memes/certain pop culture references ._.’’ Ano, I share flake sensei’s ignorance in that department. I mean...you’ve seen flake sensei’s responses, right? The few asks, apart from the trolls, that he gets? That should paint an accurate picture. 

4. Ah yes. Shipping. I’ll be blunt; its hard -- not that I’m against it, its just...have you met the muse? He’s a moron when it comes to these things; someone who doesn’t trust easily and, despite being a floof is still the Yellow Flash. This is why my rules state chemistry - if the thread sways in said territory, all’s good! The reason why I’m mentioning it here is...well, shipping or no, it shouldn’t stop us from writing together, ne? There are so many possibilities...so many AUs that we could explore. +_+ Feel free to talk to flake sensei; his sparkles are just a distraction from his innate flakiness.
