This is the most common, fundamental blues scale to learn. Tabs: -2 -3' 4 -4' 4 -5 6 (Draw 2, Draw 3 Half-Step Bend, Blow 4, Draw 4 Half-Step Bend, Draw 4, Draw 5, Blow 6)

-2 (Draw 2): Root note (G)-3' (Draw 3 bend): Minor third (Bb)4 (Blow 4): Fourth (C)-4' (Draw 4 bend): Flat fifth / Blue note (Db)-4 (Draw 4): Fifth (D)-5 (Draw 5): Minor seventh (F)6 (Blow 6): Octave (G) [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Tips for Playing the Blues Scale

Practice Slowly: Focus on getting clean notes and accurate bends before speeding up.

The 3-Draw Bend (-3'): This is crucial. It should be a half-step bend (the note between hole 3 draw and hole 3 draw full bend).

Emphasize the Blue Notes: Focus on the -3' (minor third) and -4' (flat fifth) to make it sound "bluesy".

Descending is Easier: Many beginners find it easier to practice the scale going down from 6 blow to 2 draw. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
