Been seeing people do anatomy studies of Tenna, and decided to try my hand at it. (doing one for my oc Channelle too but thought people would enjoy Tenna's in a post by itself since people aren't always interested in oc's )
I spent most of my time researching and brainstorming how he'd look and behave post the Roaring Knight amputating him, so there's a bit of an essay under the cut if you're interested! I like the thought that he develops a slight disability regarding his mobility in his arms and hands, which will also be explained in detail under the cut.
------------------
Since I headcanon that he's an early 90s model of CRT, I based his body anatomy off old animatronic shells to protect his wiring and skeleton (thanks FNaF for exposing me to all this knowledge). His chest features a small access panel, to reach vital internal systems鈥攕uch as memory storage, power cores, and old tubes/fuses.
His shoulders are left partially exposed, showing ball joints and mechanical rotors. It's so he has a broader, more fluid range of arm motion than a fully enclosed joint could. His arms and legs are plated in interlocking panels that mimic the appearance of muscle, with gaps around the inner elbow and knee joints for mobility and access. His hands have articulated knuckles and a slot at the ends for claws.
At the hips, he's got accordion-like plates to protect his wiring while allowing significant flexibility in his stride. His feet are flat and wide, with pronounced treads on the sole for stability.
His casing as a whole has many vents to avoid overheating, as a CRT he has no fans to cool his hardware on his own and relies on good ventilation in the studio.
----------------------------------
After the knight amputated him, his repairs were done with spare parts and scrap. The age of his hardware made it hard to fix him perfectly to how things were before, along with some amateur work since the fun gang helped (no fault of their own, though I like to think Kris had the most knowledge among the trio).
Since then, he's developed what I call Joint Stiffness Retention (JSR). I based it a bit on Adhesive Capsulitis (Frozen Shoulder), and Neuropathy.
After his arms were severed and reattached, Tenna鈥檚 internal wiring was rerouted through auxiliary joints and patched circuits. While functional, the precision in his movements suffered, particularly under stress. His limbs now require frequent rest鈥攐verexertion leads to stutters in fine motor control. While with some recovery, he's improved, the repairs have left him with permanent side effects due to the age of his systems limiting how he could be fixed. At least, until there's time to upgrade his hardware.
Limited grip strength - His servo tendons don鈥檛 fully contract anymore. Holding anything tight is like trying to close a stiff spring and may cause his joints to lock up. Mainly in his hands. He can hold the mic鈥攂ut not for long. Overuse makes his fingers buzz faintly, and may be sore or a bit painful.
Slightly weaker shoulders - His shoulder axis doesn鈥檛 pivot like it used to. It clicks if he raises his arm too high. This is mostly a consequence of there not being enough specific parts to repair his shoulders identically to how they used to be mounted to his main frame, as well as amateur repairs made by those inexperienced with electronics.
I ended up not liking my first attempt at drawing Spamton in my own style, and decided to redo it! I'm MUCH MUCH happier with this, and also had a crack at SpamtonNEO~ I just need to do my 'post-virus' Spamton soon once my backlog of projects is finished up.
(I intentionally left SpamtonNEO sketchy/loose coloring here as a stylistic choice. I was someplace a little stressful at the time of doodling him, so I wanted to take it easy and not worry about polished details like I normally do)

Did these for Valentine's Day this year! I love getting to make their screens just flush entirely pink, and exploring a more flustered Channelle.
When she does get extremely flustered, her dials may spring out cartoonishly, and just the very end of her plug tail vibrates.
And then, Tenna's parents! I don't draw them enough, and actually the first time drawing them together since I finally came up with a concrete look for Clara. I haven't thought of much for how Old Tone or Clara act when super flustered, except that Tone's knobs spin wildly, and he simply cannot wipe the biggest, goofiest grin off his face.
Realized it's been a minute since I've posted over here! So have this really cute piece of Tenna and Channelle. I genuinely love how the shading and rendering turned out with this one~ <3
I originally had three meme redraws I wanted to post together, but I've yet to finish that third one past the sketch. And I'd really like for these to be posted the year they were drawn. So, here they are! Hopefully next year, I'll be able to finish that third one... it's going to be a really funny one XD
Decided I wanted to do basically my loose versions of our boys! Starting with our favorite little salesman, Spamton! (borrowed inspiration from variations of him I've seen)
I dunno how much I'll post of my 'AU' of Deltarune, but I've been writing under the idea that Darkners live on the surface world, coexisting with the Lightners!
More info (and repeat of what's said in the image) under the cut!
As an Addison, Spamton was an outcast in his own family. His heterochromatic eyes were regarded as a flaw, and there were even rumors of him to be "refurbished." Forced to work twice as hard just to be taken seriously, he eventually caught the attention of a mysterious Darkner he referred to as The Big Man, who offered him a deal he couldn't refuse.
Spamton, fresh from Cyber City (Cyber World), weaseled his way into TV Time Studios under the premise of hosting its fan mail program, secretly plotting to con the studio's young owner and star host, Mr. 'Ant' Tenna. However, the bogus friendship became real, and he found himself falling for Tenna.
The Big Man saw this as a betrayal. As punishment, he infected Spamton with a black-market RAT virus via the phone they always communicated through, intending to completely corrupt him if he signed the contract that Tenna had made for their engagement. The infection caused excruciating physical pain, which was exacerbated by The Big Man's crushing words that ended their deal. Spamton vanished without saying anything, completely overwhelmed.
RAT Virus (Chapter 2):
[IMAGE TRANSCRIPT: All robotic joints are now visible. Finally decided to get glasses to hide bulging eyes]
After abandoning Studio City (TV World), Spamton had nowhere to go. His fellow Addisons thought he was grotesque鈥攅very finger joint, jaw, and bulging eyes were exposed, like a corrupted 3D model with missing eyelids.
In a desperate attempt to soften his appearance, he acquired a pair of round glasses that gave his face a more "cartoonish" appearance, lessening the frightening intensity of his stare. However, his complete heterochromia could never be hidden, and he's never felt more like the "freak" everyone said he was. He now lives in a dumpster, having abandoned his fianc茅 and been completely rejected by the Addison family.
It's only him now... The RAT virus was steadily eating away at his body and mind, bringing him closer to insanity with each passing day.
Post Virus (Future):
[IMAGE TRANSCRIPT: After a near-death experience saving Tenna's family, he was cleared of his virus and lives a mostly [HAPPILY EVER AFTER]. Still has random ticks since he didn't go through with a factory reset, but okay with it!
Scars remain from virus]
Not fully developed yet, but the premise is that following the events of NEO in some future after the events of Deltarune, a less psychotic Spamton was bullied into being put inside a pet carrier at a Cyber City (Cyber World) pet shop. A mother and her enthusiastic young daughter鈥擳enna's family鈥攆ound him there.
The little girl believed he was just a funny-looking rat, and her mother reluctantly made a bargain with Spamton: she'd help him escape the Addisons in exchange for him playing "pet rat" for her daughter for at least a month. Tenna pretended not to recognize Spamton when he realized the little man was now living in his house, but they eventually made amends and became friends again.
Spamton had intended to leave the first night he arrived, but he was unable to break the little girl's heart. He became attached, like a chaotic uncle. He gradually went through a redemption arc, eventually saving Tenna's family from harm. In exchange, Tenna helped save Spamton's life by clearing the majority of the RAT infection from his system.
It wasn't fully gone, but enough to allow him to function normally again. He could do a factory reset, but that would erase all of his memories. Spamton decided to keep the scars, the ticks in his speech, and the memory of everything he'd gone through. He eventually found peace with his regrets and mistakes, as well as contentment in his new life as the 'fun uncle' in Tenna's small family.
