After spending five minutes in the darkness of a total solar eclipse, I completely understand why some cultures would flip the fuck out over the event.
Daylight starts to dim over an hour or so and then suddenly you're in twilight-level darkness while overhead is a perfectly black void ringed by great silver streams of solar corona arcing off into space and sometimes the red glint of solar flares on the lunar edge.
my brain was wandering around while at work today and spat out the idea to combine the last two anime series I watched and think about what would happen.
Then I remembered that my most recent series are Witch Hat Adelier and Dorohedoro.
Oh those poor kids...
Looks like I'll be getting a new housemate this Christmas thanks to my brother-in-law having a little foster gal that needed a home.
Brought my new cat, Kikimora, home from my brother-in-laws this evening. When I got home, Gremlin didn't attack or hiss at her - he's just been following her around my apartment as she explores her new home.
Kikimora is a bit of a nip-fiend apparently
Oh nevermind, Gremlin has hissed at Kikimora - he caught me holding and petting her, which put him in a bad mood until I picked him up and gave him attention. She then tried to play with him, which he was never able to do with Rocky, so it earned her some more warning hisses but no violence.
Figure these two will get used to each other quickly and I don't have to worry about cat violence while away.
Just got home from taking Rocky to the vet to get a facial wound checked out. The wound was badly infected and had killed the skin directly over it. They also did blood work and checked him over. He's got a mild heart murmur (a 3 out of 6 on their scale, expected even for a healthy 19yr old cat), noticeably under-weight and has anemia - no kidney, liver, thyroid problems or signs of any cancer/tumors.
Now I get to give him once a day liquid antibiotics for the infection, twice a day iron/vitamin liquid supplements for the anemia, plus more wet cat food/healthier senior-oriented dry food to put on weight until his follow-up in a two weeks.
So worried it was going to be worse, now the hard part will be force-feeding him the meds.
Finally watched both Knives Out and Glass Onion, and I am goddamned disappointed in myself it took me so long to watch these movies. But at least I can catch the next one with everybody else

Just had an interview earlier today at WM corporate in a supplier support role. Enjoyed the team I interviewed with and they seemed to like me. Now to just wait until I hear back on whether or not I got the position which will likely take several days because temp agencies and corporate bureaucracy.
Saw my first wild turkey in probably 20+ years while driving around this morning, it was a female walking alongside the road in an area where tornadoes had recently leveled a path through Hobbs State Park. Sadly I wasn't able to stop and get a camera up before the turkey got spooked by traffic and ran off into the undergrowth.
