blurb two
levi’s face lit up in flashes of blue and red amongst other rainbow colors as we moved and danced to the hit music that played over big subwoofers. not many words were exchanged as we moved our bodies next to each other amongst the tight crowd in gabe maxwell’s living room, bobbing and bouncing along to the beats vibrating through the speakers. occasionally, our bodies bumped and ground together and left me breathless and blushing. as more people crammed into the living space, levi and i drew closer. as another song came on, our bodies began moving together again. levi began reaching out to my body and brushing against my hips and sides more as more people entered the makeshift dance-floor. my range of motion, previously only restricted by my outfit choice, was now further restricted by the threat of hitting someone or getting hit by someone. leaning forward on my tip-toes, i shouted up at levi: “let’s get out of here!”
levi nodded and grabbed my hip, moving me in front of him so i was in the lead. if my cheeks weren’t already red from dancing for so long, they certainly were now. i could feel my cheeks burning as i bit my lip and smiled, pushing my way through the crowd. when we found our way out of the middle of the large crowd, we found ourselves in the back hallway of the house, lit only by the glow of lights from the living room. down the hall, the kitchen glowed and a few people were talking and making drinks, loudly singing along to the music. “you tired out?” levi questioned as he leaned down to talk into my ear. i could hear him chuckle from behind me and pictured his smug grin, especially as he continued on, “need to find a bed?”
i pulled away from him to look up at him with a teasing grin. “it’s not that easy to wear me out.” i giggled softly as i turned to look at him face-to-face. “i’ve got a lot of stamina, you know.” i winked at him and walked backwards to lean up against the wall. i watched as levi’s brows knit together for a split moment before his eyes widened with amusement and he stepped closer to me.
“is that so?” he asked and a small smirk appeared as he shoved his hands in his pockets. “well that’s good,” he began and i watched as he looked me up and down before confessing, “it’s better when it lasts longer.”
with that, i felt my cheeks flaring hotly again. i looked down and smiled hard, embarrassed and knowing how red my cheeks must be. giggling a little, i shrugged softly and looked up at levi, “you’re not wrong.” i admitted and bit my lip, putting a hand on my hip. levi drew closer to me, resting his hand on the wall behind me, holding a small distance between us. i could feel the bass from the subwoofers making the wall behind me back vibrate as i felt butterflies begin to form in my stomach due to the new proximity between levi and i.
“i’m glad we agree,” levi laughed softly and then bit his lip a little bit. mimicking his facial expression subconsciously, i craned my neck upward to look at him. someone in the living room turned the music up louder and i didn’t have time to decide whether the rapid thumping behind my ribcage was my heartbeat or the loud bass that was shaking the living room as levi closed the small distance between us. it didn’t matter anymore as one of his large hands settled itself on my slim hip again and the other fixated itself at my jaw, pulling me closer until our lips met.
almost instantly, fireworks exploded in my stomach. my hands flung up from besides my sides and situated themselves on his chest as if by instinct. i swore i felt him smile against my lips as he tangled his long fingers into my hair in an attempt to bring me even closer to him. i could feel the goosebumps forming on my arms before i got lost in the way his soft lips felt against mine. gradually, the loud noises from the party were drowned out and it felt like time was standing still.
“hey! break it up you two!” a deep, loud voice called out suddenly. startled, levi and i jumped apart from each other. i looked up at levi nervously as i wiped my palms against the front of my jean skirt. stranding at the end of the hall was a large, stout policeman who was pointing his ultra bright flashlight directly at us. seconds later, the loud, booming music came to a complete stop and i could hear a commotion going on outside. thought i was sober it still took me a few seconds to take in the whole situation. i’m in so much fucking trouble, i thought to myself as I pulled my skirt down a little. i never should have come.
“i’m going to need you both to follow me outside.” the man said sternly and practically turned on his heel,
