Kakashi would like to kiss you on the very first day if possible, but he knows that’s not appropriate. He’s a man with honor, but if you make any move in that direction, there’s no way he could refuse you. Occasionally, he lets his gaze linger on your lips a moment too long, always timed to perfection.
After work, he waits for you like always. You, excited as ever to see him since he’s your quiet place, jump into his arms. Even though he’s not really one for public displays of affection, he can’t help responding, one hand gently stroking your head.
It was your day off, and after a few glasses of wine left you both a little dizzy, Kakashi found his courage when you looked at him with those beautiful, lovesick eyes. He made sure no one was around, only the moon to keep you company and the soft wind that played with your hair. He tucked it behind your ear while his heart pounded out of rhythm.
How it’s the time. Keep calm.
Your parted lips were so inviting for Kakashi when he cupped your cheek while your eyes said nothing else but desire. So when he leaned in to kiss you, he made sure to pour everything he felt into that moment, everything he couldn’t bring himself to say aloud.
He’ll probably kiss you after a few dates because Itachi is a respectful and serious man. Maybe a small part of his reason is also that he likes making you wait. Each time, watching your shy gaze, your flushed cheeks, wondering to yourself, will he kiss me today?
As he walks you home, your hands touch by accident. You immediately begin trying to distract him, talking quickly about everything you did today. That is, until you reach the door. Itachi lets out a soft, faint chuckle before taking you by surprise, moving your hair aside. Your skin prickles with goosebumps instantly, your eyes locked on him. He follows his own finger as it traces your face, his thumb caressing you until he finally looks into your eyes.
You gulp, not daring to move, and his mouth tilts slightly before he leans in to kiss you.
Sasuke will not kiss you unless you initiate it. At first, you’ll probably feel like he doesn’t even like you, because he treats you like a friend. That’s how it begins, until you realize that he doesn’t look at any friend like that, his heart doesn’t beat like that for any of them, and he doesn’t lose sleep over any of them.
But you don’t know that yet, so on one of those days when you thought you could still wait, your insecurities get the better of you.
As you walk home slowly, in that silence you used to appreciate because you felt safe around him, your voice now comes out with a hint of irritation.
“Sasuke, I want to ask you something.”
Sasuke has never heard that tone aimed at him before, which is why his glance toward you is immediate, stopping in place on one of Konoha’s side streets. His favorite ones, the ones he chooses because there are rarely people around to greet politely, which he finds draining. Right now, there are children playing outside, but Sasuke becomes aware that he shouldn’t care about that right now.
He looks at you, waiting. His face cold, but his eyes show curiosity, and his heart beats a little faster, already fearing the worst.
You gulp, looking around nervously before lowering your gaze, overwhelmed by the emotions stirring inside you.
“What do you feel for me?” You lift your eyes, looking at a Sasuke who blinks twice in confusion, until you gesture again, even more nervously. “I mean like… sometimes it feels like we’re just friends because and I want to know if I misunderstood or if—”
Sasuke cuts you off, lifting your chin with his delicate fingers. He realizes that maybe his respect for you, and his refusal to allow affection, has hurt you.
There’s a murmur in the background. Even the children’s laughter fades. Maybe they’re watching or maybe not.
Two people, in the middle of the street, caught in their first moment.
Sasuke’s breath is uneven. Something that is so unlike him. Losing control over his emotions is foreign. He looks at you until your eyes fall on his lips, and that’s the confirmation he needs. That it’s safe to move closer. The kiss is brief, but sincere. Sasuke’s cheeks have colored slightly. He wants to kiss you again. He already suspects he’ll crave more. That once he’s tasted you, stopping will be difficult. His hand trembles faintly as he releases your chin.
His black eyes hold you, and the hint of affection in them makes you smile. Your smile grows even wider when he whispers, still trying to ignore the glances around you.
“Friends don’t do what we just did.”
Naruto stressed for days over the moment he’d do it, annoying Kakashi into giving him kissing tips. Kakashi couldn’t believe what he was hearing, refused to answer, and left Naruto to figure it out alone.
Luckily for Naruto, you’re just as affectionate as he is. So after a ramen session, lying in bed relaxing with some ridiculous animal show that Naruto finds himself in, you two love cuddling.
Naruto was far shier than usual, burying his face in your neck and kissing all over your face like he always does.
You laugh, tickled by his little kisses on your neck, trying to push him away, only then realizing he’s hiding.
“Naruto, why are you hiding, baby?”
He mumbled something, but you didn’t catch it. With both hands, you cupped his face to look at him, catching a very embarrassed Naruto.
He groaned, throwing his head back dramatically, eyes pointed toward the ceiling.
“I’m such an idiot. You see I tried to make it special but, ghh.” He covered his face with both hands.
You started to get a little worried, so you pulled his hands down. Both of you sat up on the bed, staring at each other.
Naruto gulped, feeling breathless. Trying to find some courage. It was almost comical, how brave he is in battle, yet now he feels like the weakest man alive.
Your both cheeks flushed at once, and he was surprised by your gasp as you lifted your gaze to meet his.
It didn’t take long for both of you to lean closer until your lips met. Naruto kissed you gently, stopping for just a second before looking at you, breathing hard. Then his mouth found yours again, pushing you back and deepening the kiss. After that, he began kissing you again quickly and repeatedly everywhere, making you laugh again. You remained lying on your sides, gazing shyly at each other while Naruto’s hand rested on your hip, unable to stop himself from touching you again and again.
Shikamaru is the type of guy who tries to do things by the book. His father was a strong example who taught him how to treat a girl. Still, even for him, the first kiss is hard.
Though he’s confident, the first time he told you he liked you was difficult. Scratching his head awkwardly, Shikamaru leaned against a rail near the Naka river. He tried to take your love for nature into account, planning the moment flawlessly so that bringing you here would bring a smile to your face.
“Even if my plan worked, I admit it’s hard to say what I have to say.”
Your lips tilted upward, already knowing what he would say, but you kept quiet, giving him the space to speak. He turned toward you, knowing it would feel strange not to look you in the eyes.
“I like you. And I’d like us to be together. Obviously, only if that’s what you want too.”
Even if you teased him with a smirk, your flushed cheeks gave away how you felt.
“I know, Shikamaru. I think it’s obvious that I like you too.”
He nodded, throat dry, and looked away.
“Right.” He exhaled once, then stepped closer to you with only one thought in mind. His lips slightly parted, maybe even more in love with your smug, adorable expression. “Can I kiss you?”
Now it was your turn to get so flustered you couldn’t even tease him. You just nodded. His steady hand moved hesitantly to your cheek, keeping you in place as he kissed you. He didn’t push, just kissed you enough for both of you to confirm that your feelings were real.
Gaara is a humble man. He doesn’t expect or ask for anything from anyone. Instead, he prefers being kind to everyone. It took him a while to realize that you were receiving something different. That he kept seeking you out, trying to meet in the same places just to spend more time with you, excusing it by claiming he was just being a good Kazekage offering help. Temari was the one who scolded him. She had already noticed you weren’t indifferent and gave him the final push to come find you in your office.
When he entered, Gaara hid the flowers behind his back, his hand slightly trembling.
“Gaara? Did something happen?”
He had told you to call him by name many times, insisting until you finally did. You stood up from your desk and came in front of him, eyes curious.
Your gaze fell on the bouquet and your eyes widened, thoughts rushing through your mind. Gaara forced himself to remain composed and maintain eye contact, even if the shy look on his face revealed his vulnerability.
“They’re for you.” A silence followed as he handed them to you, searching for his words. “I’m sorry if I’ve been vague until now, unsure if you would feel pressured by the situation so I fear I may have wasted your time. I… I want to confess that I feel something more than friendship for you and I hope I’m not the only one.”
You hid your emotional face in your hands, delighted by the moment. You hugged him, wrapping your arms around his neck with the flowers still in your grip, making Gaara gasp in surprise. He stood frozen with his hands in the air for a second too long before hugging you back. You whispered softly, confirming what he had hoped.
“I’ve never felt anything like this for anyone. I…I feel the same way, Gaara.”
You lifted your head. Your eyes and his held only love, your faces close.
“I’m glad.” Gaara whispered back before leaning in slowly to kiss your lips. Gentle, but full of longing.
