It’s based on the Percy jackson and Heroes of olympus series and I’m absolutely in love with Kally and Pax! He’s a menace and Kally’s just trying to make sure everyone survives their quests >A<

Essentially, Pax and his born of primordial awesome brother put on a show for Reyna and her troops and Pax’s questing group. Pax goes a little off-script and tries to offer Kally the flowers. I absolutely had to draw what I saw in my head and I super loved drawing these two when I can XD Pssttt, there’s a lot more canon characters too and fluffy ships galore!

Traitors of Olympus, Blood of a Mayan, Chapter 8: The Bare Necessities… Are Lacking

Maybe now wasn’t the time to bring it up, but Kally felt she needed to...            She didn’t want Merry to brush this off. “Don’t do that euphoria thing to your friends without permission.”            The elevator door bounced open and shut again [with Calex’s arm in the way].             Kally remembered when Pollux talked about his dead twin brother Castor. He seemed off when Merry was comforting him. And Pax, when he cried about how Castor had died...Pax hadn’t seemed himself either. “You’ve used that power on Pollux and--and on me,” Kally stated.             What Merry did surprised Kally: she wrapped her in a huge hug. ...“I’m sorry sweetie…. I won’t anymore,” she whispered. Kally shifted...so she could wrap an arm around Merry. They held onto each other for a solid ten seconds, both trying not to break down into tears.             Calex awkwardly glanced down the hallway until Merry peaked over Kally’s shoulder to say, “Oh, Calex, you big, awkward Brit, come here--”             All he managed was a, “Um--” before Merry had dragged him into a group embrace. ...             “You didn’t think I was going to let you get third-wheeled all day, did you?” Merry teased Calex.             Calex cleared his throat in response.

Drilla does SUCH beauty and justice to Merry and Calex so I HAD to commission her again when she opened!! Like before, I 100% RECOMMEND ANYONE TO FOLLOW HER / COMMISSION HER BECAUSE SHE SO AMAZING!!

So when she opened new commission slots I KNEW this is what I wanted to ask her to do! A scene from Jack’s PJO / HOO fanfic The Traitors of Olympus!!

Added to the mix is Kalypso Cassand! Merry’s best friend and daughter of Apollo by untalked about means! Calex happened to be there when friendship tears abounded, a bit frustrated but as a son of Eros and able to see emotions he can see the two clearly needed their cry fest moment.

I CANNOT TELL YOU HOW MUCH I SCREAMED WHEN DRILLA GOT BACK TO ME WITH THIS!!! NOT ONLY ARE ALL THE CHARACTERS PERFECTLY DONE BUT THERE’S EVEN THE REFLECTION DETAIL AND MERRY’S BUSTED LIP!! I SCREAMED. SO MUCH. Drilla is seriously the best and I can’t gush enough about how much I love her art, her creativity and detail, and the person herself! GO GIVE HER SOME LOVE, EVERYONE!

Hope you love this as much as I did Jack! Your characters are seriously the best and thank you for letting me commission your babies again :D

Birth Of A Monster: A Star Wars Story

Today a labor of love goes live!

This project started out from a simple desire; a very talented Hollywood monster-fabricator wanted to make a fun little short film with his son where they could dress up in awesome costumes and share their love of Star Wars. From that humble beginning it's grown several times over into something way more ambitious, but I think it stayed true to its heart through it all.

Passion project doesn't begin to do this justice. The crew we had bravedsome truly harrowing challenges just to get the footage on camera which we'll detail at a later time. Our main talent were either A.) a 5 year old boy or B.) wearing a full body suit that they couldn't sit down in or C.) wearing head to toe fabricated costumes that weighed more than said 5 year old boy.

This project embraced original trilogy practical effects at every opportunity, including miniatures and full-body costumes created by our director Timothy Reed Martin and his talented cohorts. The team spent more than a year in post working in-between paying work late at night and on weekends, polishing over and over again in the service of bringing the most authentically Star Wars look, sound and feel possible to the screen. The score (by the insanely good Aaron James Eckardt) is entirely original except for the classic opening and closing credits music, which honestly still blows my mind. When you hear it you will understand what an achievement that is.

Passion.

Fan films are never perfect and we know this is no exception, but what we achieved here with next to no resources other than our time and effort is truly awesome and something we are all proud of. We think you'll like it too.

Thank you to everyone who was a part of creating, massaging, improving, and ultimately elevating this project to where it ended up. I'd jump into the trenches with you all again anytime; and maybe we already are ;)

It’s difficult for me to put in words what it means to finally have this film out. I have posted about it many times but I can finally post a link for people to watch it. It’s been about 2 years since this small project we started for fun began and every step of the way it ballooned into something bigger. There were so many challenges with having no money but we overcame and created something we are all proud of. The most difficult thing about doing a fan film right, especially something like Star Wars, is making sure the look and feel matches the already vast established look. I was nervous and bummed because we couldn’t shoot on film and because it was a basically no budget passion project, we had to shoot on what we already owned. I will say I truly believe you can get essentially the same look out of all digital cameras, it comes down to glass, lighting, and post work. We shot RED Epic-W with Cooke S4i Minis. The look to me is exactly Star Wars and I couldn’t have done it without my entire crew and especially @matt_osborne_color on the color! With all Star Wars fan films the tend to focus on light saber fights, the force, and storm troopers. Ours is an origin story of a less important character from the original trilogy that I thing real fans will love. There are a lot of technical things I will post about after it’s been out for a while but miniatures are definitely one of them. Which I couldn’t have done without the help of some incredible mentors and @losangelesfilmmaker @tedsimtv @aputuretech The film also wouldn’t be the same without @aaronjameseckardt amazing original score! There are of course tons of people that made the project what it is but of course i have to thank @monsterman03gmail and @alecbryan for bringing me on. After about a year and a half working on this passion project we are almost done. Exporting the DPX sequence for color. It’s been a crazy adventure that started off very small and got bigger and bigger but I’m so happy with the final results and all the amazingly talented people who helped bring this together. Creating the poster was especially fun and challenging but i love the final result.
