On October 30, 1994, the 5th Simpons' "Treehouse of Horror V" aired. It started with a parody of the Outer Limits. It was the first Treehouse special to not have gag name credits. They also did away with introductions to each segment. It was also the first Treehouse special not to have a parody segment based on the Twilight Zone. The three parts were "The Shinning" (a parody of Stephen King's "The Shining"), "Time and Punishment" (based on Ray Bradbury's "A Sound of Thunder"), and "Nightmare Cafateria", where teacher's cannibalize their students. Muppet Fact #435

For the original presentation pilot of The Muppets (2015), Denise didn't have her own puppet created just quite yet. So, they used the Spamela Hamderson puppet from Muppets Tonight.

After the presentation pilot got off the ground, Denise got her own puppet built.

On October 28, 1993, the Simpsons "Treehouse of Horror IV" aired. The wrap-around segments were done in a parody of the "Night Gallery" anthology series with Bart in the position of Rod Serling. The three segments were "The Devil and Homer Simpson" (based on "The Devil and Daniel Webster"), "Terror at 5 1/2 Feet" (based on the Twilight Zone episode and movie segment "Terror at 20,000 Feet" with Bart taking the William Shatner/John Lithgow role), and "Bart Simpson's Dracula" (based on various vampire tales, in particular "Bram Stroker's Dacula", "Nosferatu" and "The Lost Boys".) This episode marked the last episode with Conan O'Brien as a writer and the first appearance of exchange student Uter. ("Tree House of Terror IV", The Simpsons, TV Event)

When discussing the intention of the 2015-2016 sitcom The Muppets, executive producer Bob Kushell explained that he wanted to bring the Muppets back to their adult roots, as opposed to keeping them as a group of characters for children. He also said he wished to individualize the Muppets, separate them from eachother, and delve into their personal lives.
