Anybody still think about how the deepest and purest expression of Mandalorian love and respect is also one of their most iconic combat moves to knock an opponent out.
I think something that fundementally altered my brain chemistry is a fic I read (I can't remember which one) that intentionally referred to the Fetts' ship as The Slave Won and the GALAXY BRAIN move that is . . .
Jango Fett, the man who was enslaved by chains and memories and trauma who raised a son with a gentler heart than him who he loved with his whole being, and even in death Jango was able to take his revenge on those who massacred his people. Boba Fett, the cherished son, the boy enslaved by violent grief and a father's legacy, who finds work with Jabba the Hutt, a titan of the slave trade who doesn't let his prizes go easily, and Darth Vader, a man with iron control over everything and everyone around him. He dies and is reborn fromt he sarlac and wars with his pride and ego and grief to finally free himself of the shackles and remake a planet of pain into his own kingdom to rule over fairly and justly.
In the end, The Slave Won.
