Questions for us:

1. What’s your favorite color?

A: Glacial blue.

E: Pale, minty green.

2. Have you decorated your room at all?

A: What does that mean? I have a calendar. And a point chart. And a picture that my dad made when he was in college. I have a desk. Does that count?

E: I have a couple unframed pictures, some of my own drawings pinned up, and an utterly gorgeous array of books of all sorts and colors.

3. What’s one reason why you love your best friend?

A: Well, my best friend's my sister, so y'know...

E: Same here.

4. Do you prefer sweet or salty foods?

A: Sweet.

E: Yup, sweet stuff which'll kill me.

5. Do you collect anything? If yes, what?

A: I collect tabs on Firefox.

E: Books. Along with some movies and pretty rocks, rock-like, or egg-like objects.

6. Do you believe in any kind of afterlife?

A: I don't know. I hope it's not nothingness, though.

E: I'll find out when I get there.

7. What’s one thing on your bucket list?

A: I don't really have a bucket list. Well, maybe to play the Moonlight Sonata on piano. That's where it's played, though, so...

E: I'd like to travel, and visit the Ghibli Museum in Japan sometime, but I really hope to finish and publish a book before I die so that I can hold it in my hands and make creepy faces of triumph as I slide it into a place of pride on my bookshelf.

8. How do you normally spend your free time?

A: The Internet, Tumblr...AO3...

E: On my butt. Reading, usually.

9. What’s your number one pet peeve?

A: Nothing in particular. Sure I could think of something, but...

10. Given the choice of anyone dead alive and fictional, who would you choose to spend a day with?

A: Myself. Or E. Or Mommy.

E: Chester Armijo Garcia, a prophet from W. Michael Gear's Spider trilogy who could see the future. He was always calm, kind, and wise, and whenever the other characters spoke with him they came away having learned more of themselves and the philosophy of life and free will. 

11. What is one thing you truly love about yourself? A: I can't think of anything.

E: i is very very very OKAY at riting!1! :0)

1.       How do you feel when a person tells you that they don’t read?

When I was younger I used to be really shocked. Now I don’t think I would be, but then, I never meet anyone who really doesn’t read at all anymore.

2.       You do read, don’t you?

Yes, I do. I spend most of my time reading. I mainly read fanfiction and whatever I have to read for university. (And I suspect some people are going to judge me for that.)

3.       What introduced you to the marvelous land of tumblr?

I’d been reading slash fanfics for *years*, and while I did (and do) have a livejournal, I was pretty much a lurker. My sister and my mum got themselves tumblrs at some point and although my sister liked it quite well, she didn’t use it a lot and I didn’t think it was necessary to get myself one. Then my cousin mentioned omegle and I tried that, discovering the world of Sherlock RPing. Every time we were done with the RP, the ‘stranger’ asked whether I had a tumblr. So, after a while, I created one just so I’d have an address to give them.

4.       Any activities that you do outside of the internet?

I go to university… And sometimes I go to the cinema… And I participated in GISHWHES last year. That is all.

5.       Or do you find that question laughable?

Not laughable so much as sad.

6.       How was your 2012 experience?

The holidays were nice. The rest, I could have done without.

7.       And will you miss it?

Nah, 2013 is either going to be pretty much the same, or better.

8.       Last song you listened to?

I really don’t know. Something on the radio. The last song I remember listening to was ‘Glad you came’ by The Wanted – my sister made me!! The last thing I voluntarily listened to was a podfic – ‘Mending Wall’.

I got tagged!

Oh wow, I got tagged TWICE! Yay! (On the other hand, I have to answer 22 questions AND think of eleven new ones. (Because there’s no way in hell I’m going to think of 22 and then tag 22 people. Seriously.)) Ok, so. The lovely Bodiceas tagged me and asked some wonderful questions that I’d really love to see answered by other people. But as it is, I have to answer them myself and the second I post this I’m probably going to change my mind about most of them.  (I’m babbling already. See, that’s what happens when someone starts talking to me or tagging me. So sorry. Well, not really. It’s under a cut anyway.)

1.       What is your spirit animal? Other than a sloth? I’m totes like a cat, constantly looking grumpy, suddenly annoyed with everyone around me for no apparent reason—Erm. People (my mum) have called me ‘duckling’ before, but I disagree on principle. Just imagine me as something really cute.

2.       If you could recommend only one work of fanfiction, which would it be?

Aaaah, for years it was a close thing between Eclipse by Mijan and Transfigurations by Resonant. They’re both Harry/Draco, but Eclipse might be a little easier to get for newbies, so I’d probably have chosen that. For people that don’t want to start by reading these rather long fics I’d have said, hey, why don’t you read Nighttime Visitors by Sylvia? It’s really short! And it’s so funny. X-Files, but you don’t have to know anything about the show to understand it, except who Mulder and Scully are, that Skinner is their boss, and that Krycek is a Russian double agent (or something). Sooo….. If I could recommend only one work of fanfiction to you people, it’d be Nighttime Visitors, because it’s much more probable you’ll find the others on your own. http://skybs.slashcity.net/gssu/sylvia/nighttime.htm

3.       What do you consider your biggest achievement of 2012?

Cleaned up my room. -.-° No, really. I can’t remember achieving anything last year. Oh, I think I made a new friend. Erm. Also, I started using Tumblr at the end of 2011 and reached 130 followers last year. (How???) But other than that? Niente.

4.       What is your biggest pet peeve on tumblr?

Probably the ask box. Could really do with some improvement. If you mean certain topics people post about, I don’t think I have one. Sometimes I roll my eyes at the screen a bit, but that’s all.

5.       If you’d been stranded on a deserted island for a year, what would be the first thing you’d want to eat when you come back?

Definitely something my mum made. That could be anything from aubergines with feta and rice to Frikadellen. Frikadellen are meatballs/burgers, but different (the English Wikipedia even has an article called ‘Frikadeller’). Maybe hash browns. Some sort of casserole. I’m hungry.

6.       Which book from your childhood influenced you most?

Let’s ignore Harry Potter for a moment, although I read the first few while I was still in primary school. One of my favourite books from before that is “Klein-Mannchen hilft einem Freund” (“Little man helps a friend”). The Dutch among you probably know it as Klein-Mannetje. It’s by Max Velthuijs. Man, I love looking at my old picture books.

7.       If you could meet anyone in the whole of human history, who would it be?

I honestly can’t think of anyone right now. Every now and then I read or hear about someone I’d have liked to have met, but at the moment I can’t remember a single one of them. I think it’d have been interesting to have met Frederick the Great when he was younger, to have seen what he’s like. The people I usually want to meet are mostly writers I can relate to, but, as I said, I can’t think of a single name right now.

8.       Do you believe in horoscopes?

When I was in school I had a friend who believed in horoscopes. Not the ones in the magazines, of course. She had these specific websites and books and so on, and she made a horoscope for me on one of those pages. It fit really well, but they literally always do. So, no, I don’t believe in horoscopes, but I don’t mind if any of you do.

9.       Who is your favourite author?

Mmmh. I’d say M. Chandler, author of the Shadow of the Templar series. It’s fantastic, go read it. http://mooncalf.org/sott/novels.html

10.   What is your best quality?

I’m very modest.

11.   And your worst?

No idea what you’re talking about.

1.       The worst dream you’ve ever had?

Most of my dreams feature dangerous situations, but I never feel like I’m in danger, so they aren’t bad dreams. But I think I once dreamed my sister had died. I’m glad I don’t remember anything about that dream other than that I had it.

2.       Favourite cake?

Idk. Lemon meringue? Rhubarb? I just like cake in general.

3.       What’s the saddest movie you’ve ever seen?

The only one I can think of at the moment is ‘De-Lovely’, the Cole Porter biopic with Kevin Kline. I don’t watch a lot of sad films, but I’m known to cry at random moments in all sorts of movies (including, of course, Toy Story 3).

4.       Anything you want to get off your chest?

My bra? Ha. Ha. Nah, I’m just generally frustrated and I want someone to make me study and make me go out but who also wants to do the same stuff I want! (E.g. impromptu Doctor Who parties that we invite strangers to. That would be great.) And also I want to have a lot of money and no responsibilities and then I want to travel the UK with my sister!!

5.       Which side are you on?

My backside.

6.       Have you ever been caught doing something really stupid?

Does being caught spending the whole day on the sofa watching QaF instead of being social count? If yes, then I’ve been caught doing something stupid a billion times.

7.       Any near death experiences?

No.

8.       What character would you use to describe your life?

John Watson, but only in that exact moment when he says, “Nothing happens to me.” And if I had to choose a character to describe myself, then it’d be the lyrical I from the Hoosiers’ “Made To Measure”, but only if you take into account the actual song, not just the lyrics.

9.       Ever wondered what would happen if you bit your toe off?

No.

10.   Are you a believer in the multiverse theory?

No, but IIIIIIIII~~~~~~~~iii believe in you. (I’m referring to, as my sister once wrote, Kylie Minög.)

11.   How’s life?

Dull and dissatisfying. And it’s my own fault for being lazy and a coward. -.-°
