Jason peeked into the office, looking for Chase. He was a bit surprised to see one of the other volunteers instead of his boss. Not that he minded, he'd talked to Mare a few times and he knew Chase was close to the man. He hadn't been able to locate Chase at all since he'd come in, and he had some questions about legal things with the kids…especially since legally, Jason was still dead. He knocked on the doorframe.

"You seen Chase?" he asked, leaning against the frame and crossing his arms.

"I uh...." Chase paused, a sigh leaving his lips. This has been nothing but a headache and he was still fighting against Mare's powers every freaking moment. It was exhausting. His own were too he supposed, but this was just ... different.

He knew the truth about Jason. He'd sworn his silence. He didn't see why the other wouldn't do the same. He trusted him.

"Can you come in a second? Close the door behind you."

Shay unlocked the door quietly and stepped in before he stared at the stranger in Chase's house. He tensed, almost dropping the bag of vegetable soup and salad he had brought for his boyfriend. He immediately felt sick seeing the stranger. Chase was not feeling well, he had asked him not to come over, but the amount of times that Chase has helped him when he was sick made it almost impossible not to help him out in return.

However, this didn't look like being sick. Who the fuck was this guy at his sick boyfriend's house? Bile rose in his throat and his heart broke so deeply suddenly. Was he cheating on him? Is that why Chase didn't want him coming over? What other logical reason could there be? The sky immediately darkened to the point that it was almost black outside.

Instead of saying anything, he simply walked right out the door, slamming it behind him. He dropped the food on the porch, the bag setting ablaze as he did. Shay's hands were also engulfed in flames and lightening struck a tree near by.

He was a fucking idiot for believing anything could have been as good as it was with Chase.

Seeing the way his boyfriend reacted, Chase's gut sank. He was an idiot to think the text he sent earlier would actually keep the other away.

"Shay! Shane wait!" He called, running after him before his eyes widened, seeing the destruction left in his wake. This was bad. Worse than bad. He couldn't let him leave. Not like this.

"Shay hang on a minute and let me explain, please! It's me! It's fucking Chase! I got hit with this magic, and I got body swapped with my friend! Okay? I was anxious because my friend is.....he isn't like me. He has other things to control, and I'm not great at it. I had you stay away because I was scared of hurting you!" He explained, catching up to him.

"Please, please just breathe for me."

"Chase?" Amber knocked on the front door as she entered and frowned. He had not come into work and Jennie said he wouldn't be in for the next few days. The fae was worried and her worry only grew seeing the stranger in his kitchen and she tensed,"Who...Who are you? Is Chase around?" She asked and glanced toward Chase's room.

The brunette by the stove jumped when the front door opened. His brow furrowed. He'd called out the moment he and his best friend had been cursed to swap bodies that morning.

He certainly hadn't expected anyone to come looking, much less for Amber to come barging in. She'd only just knocked, though truly he'd planned to ignore it.

"Uh..." his voice wasn't even his own, but Mare's.

"I'm not sure you should just be walking into people's houses. That's a good way to get hurt, Amber, I...." He paused. He hadn't meant to say her name.

Shit.

"Yeah....yeah it's me, just....a little curse is all. I uh, I was forced to switch bodies with my best friend."

Warren tilted his head, and a grin spread across his lips, "Now you don't feel like the Mare that I know. Whooo are you?" He asked, stepping out of the shadows to stand before the demon...or fake demon, whoever he was didn't feel right, and he certainly hadn't seen the guy before. "Why do you have my friend's meat suit? Dontcha know it's bad to steal others' playthings?" He asked, poking the other's forehead. His eyes were pure black, and the shadows were swirling around the two of them.

Chase swatted the other's hand away, already wondering what the repercussions for his best friend would be if he stayed for this conversation.

The chaos and evil rolling off the other made his skin crawl, but it was harder to feel without the stark contrast of his grace.

"Trust me, it's only temporary, and he knows I'm borrowing it."

The last thing he wanted to admit to the creature before him was that this had been out of their control.

@soldbydreams It's been forty eight hours since they switched bodies, and cabin fever drove Undyne and Mettaton to the Nintendo games. Undyne insisted on Smash Brothers, but Mettaton didn't want his controllers broken, so they settled with Mario Kart. Which, unbeknownst to them, was probably even more dangerous. Undyne, in Mettaton's body, crossed the line first this time. "Hah! Looks like I finally got your stupid robotic reflexes under control!"
