Ryleigh frowned thoughtfully, her hand moving to the necklace that she was almost religious about wearing. She took it off to shower, but that was about it. “Just this…” She didn’t have to look at him to know he remembered when she’d got it.
Shaking herself, she forced a grin that grew easier as she said, “I love the smell of mint, vanilla, old books, and eucalyptus when I feel rotten.”
At his last question she did laugh. “You know me too well for me to even bother lying about that one. Though I should point out that cheating people on the job doesn’t count. I’ve never cheated anyone here.” she said, tapping her heart. Not that she let anyone close enough for such a thing to happen anyway, but still…
