Oh they're being very direct about trying to push puritanical values now. Which was always the basis for fatphobia but they usually don't say that part.

Stretch marks are normal. Cellulite is normal. That place on the abdomen that doesn't lie flat is normal. Pimples are normal. Body hair is normal. Wrinkles are normal. You do not owe the world a version of you that is free of these things.

"I wrote this track about desire without shame, and I'm glad many of you feel seen and heard x"
Body positivity movement has helped so many women, especially those who are not considered to be conventionally beautiful, restore their self esteem and confidence. But that isn't enough, our self esteem and confidence shouldn't rely on how beautiful we consider ourselves are. After all, body positivity can end up as "even though I'm not conventionally beautiful I'm still sexually desirable to some men". We don't exist to be fuckable for some men.
What we need now is body neutrality. Don't let your appearance be the reason why either you hate yourself or love yourself cause appearance shouldn't be the reason. Stop judging your appearance cause it shouldn't matter that much. Just accept how you are. Focus on your body's function and health, not how it looks. The mindset women should have about their bodies is something like "I thankfully have fully functional hands that enable me to do stuff and healthy legs that carry me here and there. My eyesight is poor but it's managed with my glasses. My shoulders and back hurt because of my poor posture so I need to correct it." No value judgement, just neutral, plain facts.
Been working on a new refsheet for pills foreeeeeeeeeeeeever uwu happy to have it done in time for Artfight :3c
Body positivity/neutrality should be less "as long as you're happy and healthy you have a good body" and more "even if you're unhappy or/and unhealthy you still deserve love and acceptance"
