Meithozil: Meippayat - Arapukai (water) The Meippayat or Sakti form of Kalari can be executed in either it's water or fire form. Here we practice the opening to the water form and in doing so realise several different things: Firstly, the diagonals tracked by the arms and legs are PNF movements (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation). Similar movements are used in Physiotherapy to rehabilitate patients after a neurological incident. In the case of Kalarippayat, these movements work to improve coordination between the musculoskeletal system and the neurological system, creating a greater sense of body-in-space and an animalistic nature of movement. Secondly, the 'opening and closing' movements of the chest and it's thoracic cavity, work to 'soften' the movement and this is the key factor in inducing the sakti energy of the form. In Kalari everything is considered. It is a precise system of body-mind conditioning. www.kalarilab.org DM for info on courses, classes and treatments. #kalarilab #psychophysical #bodymindconditioning #kalari #kalalrippayat #kalarippayattu #Kalarichikitsa #yoga #ayurveda #fascia #neuromyofascia #myofascialrelease #pnf #proprioceptiveneuromuscularfacilitation #ballisticstretching #whereartbecomesscience #wheresciencemeetsart #oilandsweat #intervaltraining #kalarieveryday #yogaeveryday #takerest #kohphangan #thailand #toomanyhashtags (at Kalari Lab) https://www.instagram.com/p/ByFFgjzD21O/?igshid=f45t6spizcxs
