Calypso's POV
Breeding horses was honestly never MY passion. It was always Mom's (Hera). I always wanted to compete. To show horses, win shows with them and show the world that I can do stuff too. Mom was like me, when she was young - she told me that and I have seen pictures. These days, though, she is more interested in teaching and breeding. Not that she is old or anything, because she is only 49, but she has been talking about that great fall - during a show - she had years ago, and how her back and legs were never the same afterwards.
So she is just teaching and doing her best that way. I sometimes hear her talk to Momma (Feline) about wanting to open a lesson barn. Or just give people lessons here at Briarwood Oaks. Because she knows that she will never get back into the show arena again. Other than from the ground at Grading Shows anyways.
And as Briarwood Oaks - in the paper - is still hers, she can of course do that. I am more than okay with it though, I can just keep competing with 'my' horses if I want, and she can give lessons and be a part of the breeding part of the stable, if that's what she wants. I honestly just want her to be happy. Maybe I will talk to her about this some day soon, so she can feel happy and fulfilled again.
UPDATED COLES, PART 1
Some of my old followers (of my stables in general) might remember BOE (back then it was called Black Onyx Estate) and the Cole-family. Basically this is a revival and repurposing of that stable, and the Coles has gotten older.
First one to be updated was of course the "old"/former owner Hera Cole. She is now 42 yo (in picture 1 she is at the middle of her 30s), growing grey faster than probably necessary, but genes are what they are, and the females in her family just goes prematurely grey xD
Oh, and yeah she has glasses now.
She is no longer the owner, but has given that to her oldest (biologic) child: Calypso Cole - who is the next one who got an update!
Calypso Cole, ladies and gentlemen! In the first picture she had just turned 14, now she has turned 19, gotten probably the best birthday gift a horse girl could ask for: She is now the owner of Briarwood Oaks (Equestrian)!
Alana - Calypso's girlfriend/partner - didn't really need an update, as she arrived to the stable barely a month before I closed it down in 2023. I just fixed her make-up a little, and she was good to go!
HELLO!
This blog is being opened as a new stable called Briarwood Oaks Equestrian. Soon pictures and posts will show up. Don't worry Somerset Park's old pictures and posts will stay.
To begin with I will be posting some me created posts, which should be understood as "not stable/character posts", where I show some old sims I have updated for this blog/project.
The plan for BOE is to be the breeding version of @echointernationaljumpers, meaning that all EJ mares will be/have moved to BOE. Broodmares, competors and youngsters alike. The point being that EJ is a Stud Stable/Farm, and BOE will be a stable breeding their mares. And so EJ will only have stallions (some geldings maybe), and BOE will only have mares.
For the future this will mean that if a BOE mare gets a filly, then it stays there. If the mare gets a colt, then it will move to EJ, when old enough. It's kind of a logistical nightmare for me, but I will get there. So stay tuned!
