A sweet boffer sword I made for my buddy Aerial today! She asked me if I could do an antler crossguard, and after a bit of figuring I tried it out! The taping was a confusing endeavour at first but eventually it came out! Gave it extra bracing too, since the antlers are open-cell foam and kinda sproingy. I'm damn proud of this one. Took me a couple of hours but hot damn am I happy with the result!

Some random shields we were finishing. The circle shield is done, that was random. The dark shield is the first stage of Oscar's shield from Dark Souls.

At our LARP, we use a base of wood, cover it with a thin layer of foam (or pipe isolation) just for 3D effects, a slightly thicker layer on the outside edge to prevent sharp or hard edges, cover it with liquid latex for durability and paint. That way the shields look much nicer and will last much longer than when you use duct tape. Also, pro tip? Spray latex weapons with silicon spray from time to time, it makes a world of difference
