i feel like people are idolizing the pjo show so much that they forget it can still do things wrong

like the movies were awful so this has to be good <- that’s not how this works

the pinecone line was weird for percy. like esp after losing his mom he’d never make a joke at the expense of someone else’s grief

and that’s okay!! a piece of media can not be 100% accurate to what your perception of it should be and it can still be good

Well, my attempt to go full SHAPE and only use line and shape tools didn't really work out, but I think it looks nice anyway! ^^;;; even without the full background piece I made and then dumped because it was too busy. And drawing June in her entirety twice.

The Prime family as their totally unified set! May is a canary, August is a golden eagle, June is a crested caracara, and July is a white-tailed deer. ^^;;; soooomehow the character I was listening to Birdbrain for the entire drawing process for is the only non-bird--funny how that works out.

anyway I do think a lot of people in their criticisms of cottagecore seem to forget that marginalized people have been historically excluded from the countryside through legal and illegal means. and i also think people fail to take into account that what attracts people to cottagecore is the fact that many people are extremely alienated from nature itself. the issue is the “aesthetics” of cottagecare can and often do fit into nazi kitsch. the countryside isn’t more pure than the city. the air isn’t cleaner there because the inhabitants of the city are evil and the inhabitants of the countryside are good, it’s because infrastructure in cities is not designed to promote clean air. and this isn’t the fault of the inhabitants of cities! a city doesn’t lack clean water because the people are “degenerate”; it lacks clean water because the government is simply not interested in investing in infrastructure, for a variety of reasons. and often these reasons are connected to the people of the city being marginalized.
