Boyfriends dare I say.. They knew what they were doing
Can we please talk about how beautiful Bokuto and Konoha's friendship actually is? Of course BokuAka are Soulmates and there’s no questioning that, and I'm actually a huge WashiKono sucker because of the stage plays, but like. The BokuKono friendship is so subtle and amazing, and chapter 392 is basically the summary of it all.
Because Konoha is the only character that treats Bokuto as a "normal ace" like he wants to be, he literally kicks Bokuto in his butt when he's down and he uses him as a decoy when he's at the top of his game, and yet he's the one seen cheering the most every time the team scores (fun fact, Konoha is also one of the two only characters in the whole manga that imitates the "hey, hey, hey!", the other being Kuroo).
And Bokuto is the one character (arguably together with Akaashi) that treats Konoha as more than just a "Jack-of-all-trades", always asking to him for the ball when the setter isn't available and always cheering for his plays, even when in a slump or after being used as a decoy. And it's made clear when in chapter 392 he tells him how "it was amazing for him to be able to set the ball reliably", which is true because the only other character that comes at the top of my mind who's able to do it without never having played setter is freaking Hoshiumi (Watari from Seijoh and Osamu were both setters at some point). Not to talk about the author’s note on Konoha, about how “difficult to notice his excellence is” (see Cestcirque’s page for it).
Their friendship really blows me away, especially after analyzing it a bit more closely, definitely one of the most underrated of the series. It makes me happy that they put Konoha too in the stage plays after the Tokyo Battle, and I'd really, really love to watch them just for the owl trio.
I made this on flipaclip so please don’t kill me for the poor quality art LMAO.
Also as a key:
Blue - Akaashi, Yellow - Bokuto, Green - Konoha, Brown - Komi, Gray - Washio, Pink - Hanamaki

So i kept thinking about an au where konoha meets bokuaka using tinder and i had to get it out of my brain, so ill probably continue it!
i just love these three
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
Relationship: Bokuto x Konoha Rating: Mature (no smut, making out with intention) WC: 7526 Warnings: Manga Spoilers!
Excerpt Below:
Akaashi: So what’s the new rule here?
Kuroo and Konoha: No daring Bokuto to do stupid stuff.
Akaashi: And why?
Bokuto, grumpily: Because I have no regard for my personal well being...
hil this is pepper but i was too lazy to log in: can i ask about the steps of infatuation and tsukiten eventually??
hi pepper~ \(^o^)/
The steps of infatuation is BokuKono, and it was largely inspired by Konoha’s current concern: He's started to get the feeling that if you look at Bokuto's stupidity from a slightly different angle it's actually kinda genius and that pisses him off.
The brain of Bokuto Koutaro is a mystery.
Some days Konoha Akinori even wonders if itreally exists or not – but to establish this fact, he would need to open Bokuto’sskull and look at the inside which is, without doubt, out of the question.
“It’s like Schrodinger’s cat,” he comments oneday.
“What is?” Akaashi asks back, slanted eyes notshowing a spec of interest.
“If you ask me like this it feels like youasked out of courtesy,” Konoha says.
“I did,” Akaashi confirms, dropping anothercleaned ball into the container. “But since we have nothing better to do, I canlend you an ear if you need it, Konoha-san.”
Eventually is a TsukiTen story I haven’t updated since January 2017, but the next chapter is 80% done. Here’s a snippet from Chapter 4:
Down in the cafeteria,Semi plops down in a chair in the far end, where the least number of studentscan hear them. Tendou sits right in front of him, scooting as close aspossible. Semi swallows his comments on personal space, readying himself forthe anecdote.
“Wakatoshi-kun says hehas no interest in love,” it starts.
“I’m surprised you eventhought about talking to Ushijima about love.”
“Well, he is so damnapproachable,” Tendou says, “sometimes I forget that he has the emotionalintelligence of a newborn child!”
Thanks for asking!^^
