This chapter of Blades was such a good one. Somehow, despite everything, I didn’t expect everyone to follow into the Realm of Shadow and I was loved it. The part that struck me the most, however, was the dynamics we got hit with between the characters.

This was a group of strangers once upon a time. Now, we have Mal backing down on his usual humorously dismissive attitude because he can see on Tyril’s face that he can’t take it right now. We have Imtura throwing her arms around Tyril and Mal’s shoulders, declaring cheerfully as she smiles at MC how she’s happy to fight and/or die alongside the lot of them. And at the core of it all, they didn’t go into the Ream of Shadow to stop the Shadow Court— they could have regrouped, prepared better, and found another way. They went in for Nia, because they love her.

Maybe I’m just a sucker for found family stories, but the way the group behaved was so natural and starkly different from what the dynamics were like at the start. There’s no hostility between anyone like there was when they first met. If you choose to sneak into the Shadow Court’s castle, everyone’s behaving almost like children; bickering, teasing each other, blundering through traps together. Despite breaking into the lion’s den their guards are still down around each other emotionally.

PB you COWARDS. Also there's a side-by-side comparison. I tried my best to make the muscle look as seamless as possible, especially the abs (but that's all I could do rn (⁠･‿･⁠;⁠))

My *personal* headcanon for everyone's height.

In order from tallest to shortest if you cannot see properly:

Imtura (6'7), Tyril (6'3), Valax (6'0), Mal (6'0), Aerin (5'7), Nia (5'1).

Whilst I didn't include them, my MC Solace is 6'5, so he's the 2nd tallest.

The MINUTE Bolas 3 chap 16 ends, I'm immediately replaying Bolas 3 with Radwana. And then I'll replay again as Solace.

This fandom better not go into hiding after Bolas ends dammit, or I'm just gonna have to reconstruct it my Damn self.

Istg if at the end of the BOLAS series, you tell us that everyone goes there seperate ways and don't visit eachother every so often and I find out MC has to choose only 1 person to stay with if they're romancing someone (in romancing 4 people. So I might tweak TF out), or be alone at the end- I'm going to HIT you... Over the HEAD... With a BRICK...
