Space Marines with Kalashnikov-style Bolters.

Do you have any more Bolter headcanons?
Oh lord don't get me started
- There's a bit of a debate on whether or not Bolters should be killed, though no one really takes it seriously it's more of just people being bored and needing something to talk about. Most people are for killing them because they are largely considered to be pests (they'll steal food, chew on wires etc.) But I of course am a certified Bolter Rights Activist (BRA), as you may have seen in my bio
- They (along with Volatiles) behave like cats to an extent when in nests, as in they sleep for a while, fight for no reason, run a lap and sleep again
- snot. Bitches sneezing
- this isn't exactly a headcanon, but in all of my analyzing and theorizing I found that Bolters and Toads are surprisingly very similar which leads me to believe Bolrers may have mutated due to chemical exposure (to some extent,) though there are probably other factors as well (wrote an essay on this)
- stinky
- if you're patient enough you can befriend them (wrote an essay on this)
- unlike most infected they'll eat things other than human meat
- they're generally solitary or live in pairs but are very affectionate towards whoever they trust
- also not a headcanon: they all have :3 faces and I think about that every day of my life
- whenever they wake up they stretch and every bone in their body cracks and it's gross and I love them
- Curl Up In A Ball Like Kitty
- In the countryside they sometimes sleep in the empty volatile hives
- they have a better sense of smell than most infected and their vision is nearly perfect, especially compared to Volatiles who might as well be blind
- they chew on bones because I said so
- not a headcanon but the way they stand up and look around like meerkats when alerted?? My heart
- also wrote an essay on how fast Bolters are and what factors play into it, never came up with an actual number but rambling was fun
- I have not yet come to a conclusion on whether or not bolters can fuck. Signs point towards yes
- also not a headcanon but I quite like the relationship they have with Volatiles
- also wrote an essay on what the actual best way to kill a bolter is
Some shit about Dr. Camden's Bolters bc why the fuck not:
- he originally captured Logan because he wanted to observe his behavior but then when he was done and was trying to let him go he just didnt want to leave. Josie just waltzed in and now owns the place, and Rocket was blinded in a fight with another Bolter (very rare occurence) and Camden took him in because why the hell not. Anyway he's a dad now
- Rocket's the sweetest thing ever he just sits under Camden's desk
- Josie's a fucking bitch she's weirdly aggressive and does Not act like a Bolter
- She and Logan are very close but they occasionally just beat the shit out of each other
- Josie steals and hoards food for no reason
- Rocket is the fastest recorded Bolter and also likely the strongest but he's so passive and friendly towards people it isn't concerning. He's built like a truck but just wants affection
- Josie isn't exactly big but she can tear a good chunk outta anyone
- Logan is Mr. Average theres nothing special about him hes just there
- Unstoppable Force (josie) vs Immovable Object (rocket) who will win

At long last, my commission from @thegreekgamer is finished. I owe them a huge thank you. This commission has been a journey: firstly this commission helped me while I was stuck in an 8 month streak of unemployment, giving me an entire extra month of food and electricity. Secondly, this commission was supposed to be finished in November, but in that time the following has happened: my furnace broke, began leaking carbon monoxide into the house for about a month before I knew, and was at risk of exploding a gas leak, I moved out of said house for my own safety, I got a new job with an abusive boss, I managed to perform at the local Medieval Fair, and I quit said abusive job. But while all of that happened over the last 6 months, this commission has been my stress relief, and on top of that, I got to improve a lot of my painting skills over the course of it. So thank you again sooooooo much @thegreekgamer! I’ll make a separate post of picture of each unit in order of completion, and a post about commissions, because now I’m open for them again! Yay! But yes, these are hand painted using acrylic and enamel paints.
Taking a look at some of the unique variants of weapons from Space Hulk: Deathwing.
My personal favorite is the walls of text on Hellfire raving about burning heretics.

Do you like boltguns?
Commander Krole: *nods* *hand gestures*
Melpomanei: “They are reliable and effective weapons. More than that, they are a potent symbol of the Emperor’s justice.”
- Umbra-Pattern Boltgun
Okay, lexicanum says Bolters (so stuff like the Bolt Rifle used by Primaris, or the Autoch-pattern Bolter used by the Hearthkyn) are 0.75 caliber, or 28mm diameter guns.
For context, 12 Gauge Shotgun Slugs (modern guns) are roughly equivalent to 0.69 caliber, or 17.5 mm.
So the best bet for visualizing the carnage a Marine, Battle-Sister, Hearthkyn, or similar Bolter wielding lunatic can unleash with their standard weapon would be to look up the ballistic gel tests and the like of people trying out shotgun slugs.
