my preferred hc for Jack Abbot joining the military is just... he wanted to. He looked at it (help paying for college, purpose in life, a way to stay in shape, routines) and decided, sure. why not

I do think that by the time he left, his views on the military have... soured. He's met people who think "the enemy" means anyone from a child to their livestock, eager to point a gun somewhere. And he's met the abused kids that look for escape, the ones that are angry at the world and need the military

Inho working a long shift at the station, he's tired, mentally drained, and would love nothing more than to go back home to the other two (his wife and Gihun) he's most likely in the middle of a boring meeting about an upcoming case they've all been assigned when he gets a text. wouldn't be too crazy except there's a few more afterwards, usually he keeps a strict work ethic, but he's a bit worried that it's one of the two back home and something could be wrong!
