Homemade Paleo bone broth is a nutrient-rich, collagen-packed elixir that's perfect for sipping or using as a base for various dishes. This recipe combines beef bones and fresh vegetables for a hearty and flavorful broth.
Ingredients: 4 pounds of beef bones. 2 carrots, chopped. 2 celery stalks, chopped. 1 onion, chopped. 4 cloves of garlic, minced. 2 bay leaves. 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar. 10 cups of water. Salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions: Preheat your oven to 450F 232C. Place the beef bones on a baking sheet and roast them in the oven for 30 minutes, or until they are nicely browned. In a large pot, combine the roasted bones, carrots, celery, onion, garlic, bay leaves, and apple cider vinegar. Pour in the water and season with salt and pepper. Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for at least 12 hours, but ideally up to 24 hours, partially covered. Skim off any impurities that rise to the surface during simmering. After simmering, strain the broth through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a clean container. Allow the broth to cool, then refrigerate it. As it cools, a layer of fat will form on the top; you can remove this fat if desired. Your Paleo bone broth is ready to use as a nourishing base for soups or as a health-boosting drink on its own. Enjoy!
