Bones 8x13 - The Twist in the Plot
Get it? Like a grave plot? Because this show never successfully pulls off an actual plot twist? Although gotta say killing off Vincent came out of left field for me.
...I know that voice. A voice I have not heard since Chuck finished-OH SHIT FOR SERIOUS. I love the guest stars in these shows sometimes.
"The Twist in the Plot" - The Mentalist
This episode gave us standard Bones fare, with a few added tears toward the end. As the title might suggest, the case this week had enough twists to keep us guessing nearly the whole way through the episode. And yet that’s not what made “The Twist in the Plot” so enjoyable. As is so often the case with Bones, that was all thanks to the personal relationships. Highlights include Sweets and Daisy seeing each other for the first time since the break-up, Daisy emulating Brennan to show she’s over Sweets (she’s not), Brennan and Booth’s Wills (and their funeral arrangements), Cam being a really sweet boss, and Booth’s tear-inducing video message for Christine. Only one thing came as a surprise to us – where were the allusions to Pelant, and to Hodgins’ fall to the rank of pauper? His new poverty seems like an important issue. Admittedly, the writers may have wanted to give the viewers some lighter fare for a break, but we don’t think they should have glossed over it entirely.
Quoteworthy:
“My Last Will and Testament is 312 pages long.”
“Mine’s written on a sticky note. ‘Everything goes to Bones.’”
– Brennan, Booth
PS Sweets told Daisy he’s sort of seeing someone in the FBI. Is this Sparling? And are they actually dating or was that just something he told Daisy?
