I have a mini theory about the villager Bones. So I have Bones on my island and I love him! His house is modeled after a library/classroom and looks like this

Which doesn’t really seem to fit his personality, but then I thought about it and then I remebered this

Wishbone!

It was an old series about a jack russel terrier who would basically reinact classic literature with the other characters in the series.

Bones has markings that resemble Wishbones, his name may also be a reference (admittedly it could also be because dogs like bones ya know?)and despite a wiki saying that Bones “appears” to be based on a beagle, I think he could easily be a JRT. The most important thing is that his house having a library/book theme could be explained if his design was inspired by Wishbone!
