Why.....do they insist on doing that again? His only line, inserted around 14:55, and they choose to go completely off-script with him complaining and yelling unprompted, being ooc self-important about not being on the front lines, and needing to be 'tamed' like a dog by Todoroki and Iida. This is s6 already; this flanderized, regressed stereotype of him is not cute.

And no - compare it to the same scene in the manga's ch259, and he's silent (no lines at all), focused, and serious on civilian rescue duty! As he should be. The difference is like night and day; without following Hori's script, BONES can't respect or characterize Kacchan correctly if their life depended on it.

just wondering if you had any opinions or light to shed on this, since you've seen both shows: why is BONES' mob psycho 100 adaptation so well-done & university lauded, and its bnha adaptation so hit-or-miss? what happened to make the two anime made around the same time so different?

Easy, because BONES itself is divided into several (like at least 5) different smaller sub-studios led by different producers who handle their own projects. Studio C does bnha exclusively, while Studio B does Mob (so their teams are different but their best animators can overlap.) Which means their Studio B is fine to me, but I do not trust their Studio C, whose resume includes several other animes like the first fma and Soul Eater to veer off into anime original plotlines, to handle opm!

Basing his guess of where her bedroom was located off of how often she disappeared around the vicinity, Leon made his way over. The knock was a mindless gesture, followed by a wait of a split second before he barged his way in. “Busy?” There was no wait afterwards either. “My lighting fucked itself. You got a spare ring light or something I can steal? I’m assuming.”
