Pterion

From Greek pteron (wing). The pterion is the region where the frontal, parietal, temporal, and sphenoid bones join. Possibly named for the Greek god Hermes, whose hat had wings in this area. The pterion is the weakest part of the skull and has an artery running deep to it, s damage to this area can cause epidural hematoma.

Today I took a break from studying to go to the bank and get a haircut. Boring, I know, but I had actually been looking forward to them because they were scheduled, productive non-studying activities. While I was out, I got some socks for anatomy lab as well as a pencil case, sticky notes, a lock for my gym locker, and a cute little scarf to decorate my medical bag and make it different from everyone else's (we all ordered off Amazon and got the same one). Then when I got back I watched Netflix while making some drawings of the brachial plexus, the bony landmarks, and a chart of the upper extremity muscles. Pretty productive day. Tomorrow I'll be studying for our first quiz on Monday. Wish me luck!
