Here is an FO, which I thought should have a post all its own, my “Midsummer Madness” project, another shawl by Boo Knits, Spellbound, knitted up in Madelinetosh Twist Light (Tannenbaum colourway).

A gift for the awesome lady who lets us live under her roof for a fair sum of money. I love knitting shawls like these but never wear them myself. Last Dance by Boo Knits, with a different blocking of the edging from her usual extreme picots. Finished it a while ago, only just now got to blocking it. #knitting #blockingknits #almostdone #booknits #shawl #giftknitting

Above are a couple of items I worked up in Madelinetosh DK in the “Spicewood” colourway. Both are by Boo Knits. The top two rows are of the “Thisbe” shawl. The bottom row is of the “Brucie” hat, originally meant for a child, but it “blocked out” to a grown-up size!

Beautiful Solitude by Boo Knits on Ravelry

Finished my two most recent shawl projects by Boo Knits:

UPPER ROW: “Glamour shots” of “Echo Wood” shawl: Left: Back View; Right: Front View. The yarn used was Madelinetosh “Tosh Sock” in the “Celadon” and “Fig” colourways.

LOWER ROW: Just finished “Beautiful Solitude”: Left: Unblocked; Right: Being Blocked. “Glamour shots” will follow. The yarns used were Madelinetosh “Tosh Sock” in the “Cardinal” colourway and “Old Rusted Chair” sock yarn in the “Heights” and “Green Bottle” colourways.

“Green” seems to be the order of the day lately -- at least for WIP Wednesday! 

TOP: This is my latest shawl WIP -- another design by Boo Knits, “Spellbound,” in Madelinetosh Twist Light (”Tannenbaum” colourway);

LEFT CENTER: Taking another stab at Katrina King’s Mehndi-Inspired Wedding Mitts in Madelinetosh Prairie (”Celadon” colourway);

RIGHT CENTER: Decided that a friend of mine who is taking care of his friend (whom we hope will soon recover from a serious operation) needs a pair of hand-knit socks. Nancy Bush’s Classic Socks in “Chasing Rabbits” sock yarn (”Moss” colourway) should cheer him up!

BOTTOM: Fingerless mitts -- more or less improvised -- have cast on 48 stitches, worked a 3 purl/1 knit rib, then began a “generic thumb gusset.” The hand part is stockinette. The yarn is Madelinetosh Merino Light in the “Forsta” colourway.

Here are my 2 latest WIPs -- both from Boo Knits:

UPPER: Over half-way done with binding off the Echo Wood shawl; have been using Madelinetosh Tosh Sock in Fig (a deep brown) and Celadon (a pale green). My daughter chose the colours, saying they reminded her of chocolate mint ice cream!

LOWER: Have just started the edging on the Beautiful Solitude shawl. The main colour (”MC”) is a lilac with green and rust flecks called “Heights” by a yarn company called “Old Rusted Chair.” The secondary colour (”SC”), a yellowish green, is also by “Old Rusted Chair” and is called “Bottle.” Finally, the accent colour between the green stripes is “Cardinal” by Madelinetosh Tosh Sock.
