TVDU Rewrite

If a TVD reboot (which is likely to happen in the future very soon because of all the reboots happening) were in my capable hands I would make it a little different.

I would want it to be similar to the OG show while at the same time doing something entirely different. Like more witch stuff.

For starters I want Bonnie and Elena to be the central POV characters of this reimagining, just as they were in the books.

Bonnie is an orphan who was raised by Mrs. Flowers and there's a season long mystery of who her parents are.

Plot Twist - she and Elena share the same mother and are half-siblings.

Elena Gilbert

Elena is the new girl in town, having come to Mystic Falls 6 months after a freak accident that killed both of her parents and is coming to her mother's hometown to live with her aunt Judith and cousin Margaret.

Plot Twist - It wasn't a car accident that killed both of Elena's parents but a trio of vampires on a mission to kill every last member of the Petrova bloodline to prevent Klaus from finding her and breaking the curse.

Elena is aware of this happening as she had almost died with them and doesn't tell anyone of this because she's afraid that they might not believe her.

At first, in this reimagining, Elena can come off as cold and a little stand-offish as she is still deeply traumatized by the event that killed her parents and fears that they might come back

I always wanted them to show the full extent of Elena's PTSD and survivors guilt but never did. I have it and do occasionally experience things such as Nightmares of the event and the strong desire to be isolated while at the same time wanting to be near people.

For this I would love it if that was further explored instead of just giving us the Tumblr-Lana-Del-Rey Sad Girl.

The Salvatore Brothers

I don't want the Salvatores to be introduced until the middle-half of the season. Give us enough time to get to know the human's and their stories before bringing in Damon and Stefan. But I want them to be like how they were in the books.

I want them to have the same backstory because I want that epic sword fight.

Now here's a thing that I will majorly divert from both the Books and the Show...

I want it to be eventually revealed that Damon and Stefan are doppelgängers of Klaus and Elijah.

Imagine Book!Damon but 10,000 times worse. Like an even worse version of Carden from Cruel Prince.

I love how there’s moments in the books that remind you that while he’s an old vampire Stefan was still turned at the age of 18.

Stefan is being manipulative and ruthless and manages to outsmart Damon at the same time

He’d never be accepted completely, of course. A bitter smile curved his lips at the idea. He know better than to hope for that. There would never be a place where he could belong completely, where he could truly be himself.

“I don’t give a damn about their lives,” Damon hissed. There was only one life Damon cared about here, and it wasn’t his own.
