Cloth Book Cover/Tote with built-in handles and bookmark. Made this specifically to fit this one book after one I had at least 25 years wore out and started shredding on me. Took me about an hour from first cut to final press. Used grosgrain ribbon since it’s what I had lying around, instead of using the abstract fabric to make the handles and bookmark.

six of crows - a review

If I could rate this book 6/5 five stars, I would. Six of Crows takes you on a journey of found family, crime, and a whole lot of romance tropes. The rest of the book community can back me on this: Six of Crows is a must read for anyone (over the age of 12 of course).

Six of Crows takes you on the incredible Ice Court heist with Kaz, Inej, Jesper, Wylan, Nina, and Matthias, better known as the Crows. This adventurous fantasy novel is sure to please all readers, at any level. Packed with romantic tropes, action, and quotable lines, Six of Crows has found a comfortable spot at #2 in my top 5. For those who enjoyed Netflix’s television series Shadow and Bone, a fan of The Secret History, or a general lover of crime and fantasy, this is for you.

I was taken over by a sense of sadness when I had to put my precious copy of SoC on my “Read” shelf. STOP BULLYING ME, it was THAT GOOD. Reading Six of Crows had me feeling many emotions: content, grief, wanting-to-be-stepped-upon, in love, broken hearted, I could go on! The romantic tension between Kanej, Wesper, and Helnik had me crumbling like fresh waffles. Leigh Bardugo hit ALL the stops on the romantic trope train. You’ve got the friendly competition mixed with banter in Wesper (“You can’t kiss me from down there, Wylan.”); the forced proximity between Nina and Matthias (“He let himself relax slightly, grudgingly, beneath her palms. She flipped over and pulled his arm back around her. ‘You’re welcome, you big idiot.’”); and of course, what ever disaster of a love story was going on between Kanej (“One minute he made her blush and the next he made her want to commit murder”).
