this is a place I call home. two of my Grandma’s brothers live in the Czech Republic. when I was younger I used to come here with my brother for the whole summer. later, we would come for just a month, then couple weeks. when my brother “grew up”, I would start coming here alone. I had friends here, but books were my companions, too. I remember reading New Moon one summer, and being so engrossed in it I was reading very fast. one day, my aunt accused me of skipping chapters because she thought there was no way I was reading so much! 😁 I remember the trips to the big bookstores in the city centre and picking up some book about horses and, flying through it, I would read it at least three times that summer. I even made a little book bag for it, the original book sleeve, it you will 😉 I remember practicing writing when I was 8 by writing a diary with my aunt and sending postcards to my parents back home. I learned to play cards here! I used to be horrible, but I got better an now I’m a champ! I remember riding on the tram and falling in love with them, and I still love them now, choosing them over buses any time. 🚃 #books #bookstagram #bookishmemories (at Ostrava, Czech Republic) https://www.instagram.com/p/CBYbcoGgU7n/?igshid=o76immdaat4w
