#bookishtrioseptember Muggle Struggle: Contemporary. Hey, here's another little factoid about me, 98% of the books I DNF are contemporary, mainly YA contemporaries, but contemporary nonetheless. So, all I'm saying is, I rarely stumble upon books about the human condition that just grip me. I tend to lean on the side of, "get me the hell out of the real world, please." To bring this rambling full circle, I actually LOVED Marlena, which is about a 30-something reflecting on her teen years and meeting her destructive best friend, Marlena. I am also devouring The Summer that Melted Everything, because I absolutely loved Paradise Lost and she takes a lot of inspiration from the epic poem! . . . . .
