It's HEEEERRREEE!!!!!!
I'mma yap for a moment because I'm so thrilled about this. GAZE UPON IT! LOVE LIMIT IN NOVELIZED FORM!! AKLHAKLGHG!!!😭😭
For some background, I was joking around with friends of mine about binding the final script of the game into a physical book once 1.7 was out. 😭After a series of gifts, collabs, comms, edits, double-checks, and insanity, I locked tf in on this little side project! It arrived today and UGH! It's beautiful. I hope the photo is half decent since I was shaking with excitement! It's basically a mini trophy for my extremely otaku bookshelf.
Thank you everyone, friends, fellow devs, and creatives for helping me make this a reality!! I'm so happy. SO, so happy that I'll absolutely make this a tradition going forward.
[...] even though this book is marketed at 18+, i personally consider it 21+ it can be very triggering for some so tread lightly.
girl what. 18 is the legal adult age in ~80% of the world including the US. the book is clearly for adults. that is why it says 18+. arbitrarily moving the number up does not mean anything here. it's like. what, you'd forbid your legally adult child to read it? your 19yo coworker?
just because the US has weird thing with alcohol drinking it doesn't mean 21 is the more real adult age here.
not to mention the gravity of the themes/triggers is an individual thing and an 18yo could be unfazed by things some 43yo would get weeklong nightmares about. gaining more experience is not exactly the same as the ability to process it.
ok I'm thinking about A Separate Peace and I truly believe that Gene and Finny were both queer and both had feelings for each other but never acted on those feelings BUT for very different reasons for each character
Finny never acted on his feelings for Gene but in his case it wasn't because he was afraid to, it was more that he didn't need to... for him it was enough to be around Gene and admire him and think about him and be his best friend AND if anything were to happen between them I think he'd have waited for Gene to make the first move, or at least realize his feelings, because he wouldn't want to complicate their relationship if he wasn't sure that Gene felt the same way and was comfortable feeling that way
And Gene never acted on his feelings for Finny because either he was ashamed of them and/or didn't fully understand what those feelings were
surprise svt mention in the book I’m currently reading haha
Started All of Us Villains, it seems quite good.
Little things I loved in the Mercy Thompson series:
Jesse consistently changing her hair
Zee calling Mercy "Liebling"
All the times Samuel goes to have a private talk with Adam
Gary Laughingdog is a bissexual disaster
Aiden not understanding love
Matt Smith giving his shirt to Honey so she could feel safer in Italy
Wulfe
Marsilia's joy every time Mercy brings chaos to other people who aren't her
Miniature zombie goats
"Nudge"
Bran showing up out of nowhere
Mercy's childhood pranks becoming urban legends between the wolves
The little oak tree
The Dread Pirate's Booty
