Book Setting - Florence

In my previous post, I may have or I may not have subtly implied that I have a thing for the Old Continent...

Well, my friends, what do you want me to tell you? I can't dent it.

My love is so strong that when I was considering what the perfect setting for my first novel might be, I immediately thought of Italy. For many a reason. Let's just say it's a country very close to my heart - along with another one (but this is another story altogether).

So when I set about writing my book, Italy was my ultimate decision. I'll tell you more. My story is almost completely set in Florence. Apropos of which, I was once told by a film-maker that Florence is a very noir city. Coincidence? Who knows...

Unfortunately though, I'm not too familiar with 'The Cradle of the Reinassance', as I set foot there only once in my lifetime, and I was just there for a mere 48 hours to attend a medical conference almost ten years ago. Not really exciting eh? It was a cold and foggy day in December, but the city was glowing with the most epic Christmas lights I'd ever seen! I won't mention food because I'm already starting to salivate just thinking about it! hehe

Going back was always in the cards, but then, as it happens, something aaaaalways comes up along the way, and when I decided to go, the pandemic struck!

Just so you know. I'll be taking you all to Italy with mevery soon! ;)
