They were lying together in Aurora’s bedchamber, neither of them making a sound as they took a few moments to study each other, letting their hands wander and caress.

It was the first time Aurora had seen Mulan without her armor.

If she hadn’t been so nervous she might have made some quip about the irony – or was it symbolism? – of the moment. But right now, she could barely keep her hands from shaking as he reached out and brushed her fingers lightly over Mulan’s shoulder, raising goosebumps along the beautiful, tanned skin as she went.

“Princess, if you do not wish to—”

Aurora quickly silenced Mulan by letting her lips follow the same path that her fingers had, placing feather-light kisses along the expanse of skin from her shoulder to her neck before dropping slightly downward to kiss Mulan’s clavicle.

She nearly blushed at the shuddering gasp that Mulan made, smiling against the other woman’s skin as she kissed from her collarbone up her neck, nipping lightly at her jawline before stopping at her ear. Aurora dropped a warm, lingering kiss to the skin just beneath it before taking the lobe between her teeth and nibbling gently.

“If I did not want to be here with you, Mulan, you would know it.” She leaned back so that she could unlace her corset and let to slide down her lithe frame before resuming her position next to Mulan. “We have all night, so, please, stop worrying.”

Mulan smiled softly and claimed Aurora’s lips with her own, letting every thought and fear drift from her head as she relaxed into her princess’s embrace.

I honestly just gently put the fruit down, walked away slowly and closed the door to the kitchen like that would solve the problem. I have tea in the kitchen. Beautiful chai tea that is going cold. This is a tragedy.
