i have a lot of thoughts on the matter but i will say that fandom moving from semi-private blogs and communities to extremely public and algorithm-driven social media was a huge mistake that has changed fandom culture for the worse

i think of Grace's first committed romantic relationship being described as "a total disaster." I think of Grace not having emotional intelligence, not picking up when people like being around him, believing no one feels what he feels, on top of being some kind of ace on top of being a stubborn bastard, and kinda brusque to his peers. Choppy bantery reddit guy. Mostly book grace.

I think, "This ass isn't going to say 'I love you' to Rocky with the same candor and speed that Rocky would have." He'd probably pad it with quirk chungus Graceisms. He'd probably call Rocky "buddy" throughout. If Rocky confesses to him first in Eridian logical fashion, Grace is gonna blow a gasket. He'd be like "Love ya too buddy. Friend. My boy Rocky." and Rocky would be pissed tf off and not talk to him for the rest of the day.

When Grace is on Erid dying and withering and Rocky's losing his mind, grabbing his hands. Or when Rocky has like a ptsd attack or something and keeps saying nasty untrue things about himself. I think Grace would say it in earnest. He knows the stakes. But you'd have to wring it out of him, Hail-Mary-era Grace, like he's wet laundry.
