Different than it had been when they were kids who really didn’t know what they were doing and very different from when they were in college, so deeply intertwined with each other that when they finally broke up, it was like coming up for air.

He’s her best friend now, deeply and truly– the first person she thinks to call when she’s had a shit day and the one she wants to talk to when something goes great.

But it’s different– different between the two of them not just because of their own lives and experiences, but different expectations.

She doesn’t want a relationship right now and for what she thinks is the first time in her life, she believes Peter when he says he doesn’t want one either.

the way i'm certain robby and abbot's talk in trauma 1 launched a thousand new rumors amongst the ED staff and the creation of at least one night shift betting board. they were having a visibly emotionally charged talk in an all glass room the day robby's leaving for his sabbatical. literally not just any room, the main trauma bay of the ED, smack dab in the middle of the ED. An ED, historically, full of the nosiest human beings around.

i guarantee half that department thinks they were breaking up and the other half thinks they were making up, at least two interns asked ellis what their deal was and one med student now thinks abbot is married to robby.
