A/N: Hope you like this sorry that it's short I've been experiencing artblock and I've been feeling unwell with things please give me some time Im just glad you all l9ove my writing so much
Summary: Riley and Huey with a little sister!
Being Huey & Riley Freeman little sister headcannons.
Pairing: Huey Freeman x little sister!reader x Riley Freeman. Mentions of grandad too.
Trigger warnings: none.
You have your own rules. Granddad says “no fighting,” but Riley teaches you how to throw a punch and Huey teaches you how to dodge one. So technically, you’re following someone’s rules — just not always Granddad’s.
• You lowkey have the most power in the house. If you cry, Huey pauses his revolution. Riley puts the game on mute. Granddad starts handing out ice cream and bribes.
• Your style is a mix of both brothers. Some days you rock braids and little gold hoops like Riley picked your fit, other days you’re in combat boots and oversized shirts like Huey helped you dress. Either way, you’re cooler than everyone at school.
• You’ve perfected “the look.” One raised eyebrow, arms crossed, just like Huey when he’s disappointed. Riley says it’s scary how good you are at it — mostly because it works on him.
• You narrate everything dramatically. Riley caught you doing a fake “Boondocks” voiceover one day and now he hypes you up like, “Yo, my sister tryna get her own show!”
• You make up dances to Riley’s mixtapes and force him to be in your TikToks (he hates it but does it anyway). Huey acts uninterested… until you catch him watching them with the faintest smile.
• You’re the only one who can make Huey laugh out loud. It usually happens when you misquote a philosopher and follow it with “… or whatever he said.”
• You say “I’m telling Granddad!” at least once a day. It’s your trump card in every sibling argument. You don’t always snitch, but it’s your most powerful threat.
• You call family meetings. You saw Huey do it once, so now you bang a spoon on a cereal bowl and make everyone sit down so you can talk about something important — like “who keeps using my glitter pens.”
• You’ve got a whole gang of neighborhood kids who follow you around. They call you “Lil Freeman” and think you’re the brains and the muscle behind both brothers.
• You fall asleep during movie night with your head on Riley’s arm and your feet in Huey’s lap. They pretend they’re annoyed. They’re not.
Your Relationship with Huey Freeman:
• Huey is the big brother who lowkey acts like a parent. He’s overprotective but in a quiet, strategic way — he doesn’t hover, he watches from the shadows like a hawk.
• He sees you as the one person he has a chance to “save” from the ignorance and chaos of the world. So he tries to raise you right — reading you radical Black history books, teaching you martial arts, and correcting your grammar like it’s a revolutionary act.
• Despite being serious 99% of the time, he has a soft spot just for you. You’re the only one who can get him to crack a smile or break his “calm and calculated” vibe.
• He always walks on the side closest to the street, carries your backpack if it’s too heavy, and makes sure your nightlight works — even though he’d never admit it.
• If anyone messes with you, Huey doesn’t fight first — he investigates, finds their weakness, and ruins them with quiet precision.
Your Relationship with Riley Freeman:
• Riley calls you “Lil G” or “Shorty” and swears up and down that you’re gonna be his “ride or die” someday. He spoils you with candy, lets you wear his chains (temporarily), and teaches you all the words you probably shouldn’t be saying in school.
• He teaches you how to roast people. Like… really roast them. Your comebacks are elite because Riley made sure you didn’t go into the world soft.
• When Huey’s being too serious, Riley takes you skateboarding, sneaks you ice cream, or lets you stay up late watching rap videos — “but don’t tell Huey.”
• He tries to toughen you up because he thinks the world is rough, but he’s also the first to step up if someone makes you cry. He’ll square up with anyone — classmate, teacher, grown adult — if you’re upset.
• You’re the only person Riley shares his drawings with. He pretends he doesn’t care what you think, but your praise means everything to him.
Your Relationship with Granddad (Robert Freeman):
• Granddad treats you like the princess of the house — until you break something. Then suddenly you’re “just like your brothers!”
• He lets you watch his soaps with him and gives you little life lessons like “Don’t trust no man without a job or a good hairline.”
• You wrap him around your little finger. You want candy? You get candy. You want a dollar? You get five. But if Huey or Riley asks? “Get a job!”
• He complains about all the noise in the house, but the second you fall asleep on the couch, he carries you to bed and tucks you in like you’re still a baby.
Random Headcanons:
• You sleep in Huey’s old hoodie because it makes you feel safe. Riley pretends to hate that, but he leaves his next to it “just in case.”
• You get in trouble at school for correcting the teacher because Huey told you the real version of history. (“Christopher Columbus didn’t discover anything, ma’am.”)
• You and Riley have matching sneakers. He bought you a pair with his allowance after he scuffed yours by accident.
• You and Huey read under the covers with a flashlight. Sometimes he lets you read aloud, and he patiently helps you with the big words.
• You say “I love you” to Huey and he nods and says “Me too.”
You say it to Riley and he goes, “Man shut up… I love you too though.”
